Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has some advice for the federal judge who is preventing the imminently sensible Defense Department policy based on President Trump's Executive Order 14183 (Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness – The White House) that the military can no longer recruit transgenders and that transgenders are not eligible for retention in the military.
Maybe, mused Hegesth on the X social media platform, "Since 'Judge' Reyes is now a top military planner, she/they can report to Fort Benning at 0600 to instruct our Army Rangers on how to execute High Value Target Raids…after that," he continued, "Commander Reyes can dispatch to Fort Bragg to train our Green Berets on counterinsurgency warfare."

Reyes, a Uruguayan lesbian (NTTAWWT), hence Hegseth's "she/they" comment, was appointed to the bench by Joe Biden in a 51-47 vote. Before her appointment to the bench, she was a leftist activist and partner at the Democrat 'Big Law' firm of Williams & Connolly.
To say she has been acting as an advocate as well as a judge is an understatement. She has berated the government's lawyers, asserted that there are more than two sexes, and demanded that Hegseth delete a tweet!
3/ During a routine hearing regarding the Admin’s transgender military EO where the only issues were ripeness of the case and ultimate likelihood of success, Judge Reyes took issue with the Admin’s assertion that there were only two sexes, leading to this astounding footnote:

She said that the policy of the fired former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff took precedence over that of Hegseth because he'd "only been in office for 30 days." Apparently, that whole civilian control of the military doesn't always apply. Insanity reached new heights when she quoted the musical, "Hamilton," in an opinion.
Would honestly prefer Berdyaev’s footnote “it was revealed to me in a dream”

The case seems to be moving to the DC Circuit, where I doubt the Department of Defense will get a fairer hearing than they did from Reyes.
The military has agreed not to separate any transgender troops until at least March 28, while it seeks an emergency appeal of Judge Reyes' order blocking enforcement of Trump's executive order.
The judge has agreed to stay her order with this agreement in place.

In my view, the bottom line is that no one has an inherent right to serve in the Armed Forces. When the person suffers from a diagnosable mental illness and requires daily infusions of hormones and other drugs as well as surgery at government expense to live their best fantasy life, they shouldn't be allowed near weapons, ammunition, or explosives. From what we've seen of the impact of transgender "women" on women's athletic teams, you'd have to be a moron not to think they would have a much more deleterious effect while living in close quarters in barracks or deployed.
It is easy for Reyes to make the decisions she's made so far because she has never served in the military and will never have to live with the consequences of her actions.
These low court judges are driven by college indoctrination and emotion. Hope the Supremes can recognize that.
I don’t think Roberts would be swayed by anything rational. A strong anchor Bush threw in the water.
Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) voted to confirm her. Only the two broke ranks.
The actual vote was 52 "Yea" (48 Democrats, 3 independents [Sanders, King, Sinema] and 2 Republicans [Susan Collins and Lindsey Graham] to 48 "Nay" (Collins and Graham).
If Collins and Graham had not strayed off the reservation, it would have been tied 50 - 50 and Harris would have cast the tie-breaking vote for this execrable "judge."
Thank GOD we have the House and Senate for this Congress.
And good moral appointed leaders and people are dragged through this crap. satan is so happy.
Stewardess, I speak Acronym, not that there’s anything wrong with that...
You have way too much faith in the scotus
It will be sensible soon?
IIRC, there was a couple times Harris was not in DC when judges were being confirmed. If all GOP Senators had showed up and voted “No”, it would have stopped a few of these judges from being placed on the bench. A couple of GOP Senators didn’t show up to vote. Of course, I believe there very few that Lindsey Graham didn’t vote to confirm.
Controlled opposition indeed.
We should soon see Trump’s nominations for judicial vacancies. Will the GOP confirm his nominees as rapidly as they cooperated in confirming those from Biden? Given the fact that the Senate appears to be slow walking Trump’s nominees for other positions, I don’t have much confidence in them.
As a matter of fact, Congress isn’t doing much at all. They could be rapidly turning Trump’s EOs into law, but they seem to all be on vacation and letting Trump and his inner circle fight alone.

I know of at least 4 of them that can't.
Pete file a writ of mandamus
One key mechanism is Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 65(c) (Rule 65(c)), which mandates that a party seeking a preliminary injunction or temporary restraining order (injunction) provide security in an amount that the court considers proper to cover potential costs and damages to
“Congress could be rapidly turning Trump’s EOs into law”
That is a critical need to get past this ridiculous EO Yo-Yo game every four years. Like you, I’m really ticked that they’ve had TWO MONTHS to get things started and we have heard almost nothing out of them.
fillibuster is why.
“Congress could be rapidly turning Trump’s EOs into law”
Who claims to have 60 senators lined up to turn any Trump EO into law?
In a battle of wits with SECDEF, she loses, BIGLY!
You people should be thankful for living in this new, glorious age where we’ve been gifted with supernatural, all-powerful robed beings who’s powers are seemingly limitless.
Just as soon as they straighten out the Administration and slap down yapping Republicans they’ll turn their attention to giving sight to the blind, curing cancer and balancing the national budget.
If we’re lucky they might get together on that cold fusion problem in their off time.
Another remarkably stupid person with a lifetime appointment in our judiciary brought to us by Biden and Schumer’s then-Dem majority. Per this “judge”, it is literally illegal to suggest there are two sexes - male and female.
This is the one l was really hoping they would ignore. A low level hack has no business or the right to tell the Commander in Chief how to run the armed services. They should not have shown up at her court.
AFAIK, TMI, WTFBBQ.
To say she has been acting as an advocate as well as a judge is an understatement. She has berated the government's lawyers, asserted that there are more than two sexes, and demanded that Hegseth delete a tweet!
How the f**k does a Uruguayan lesbian wind up as a federal judge?!
