Burgess, 74, is a Texas physician who retired from Congress in January after 22 years. During the pandemic, he described vaccines to Congress as "safe and effective tools that have been proven to protect Americans from preventable, life-threatening diseases," and spoke about the need to confront vaccine hesitancy in the country.

The White House is considering former Republican Representative Michael Burgess to run the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention after withdrawing the nomination of vaccine critic Dave Weldon last week, according to three sources familiar with the matter.

Before being appointed, Kennedy pledged to Senator Bill Cassidy, a doctor who had expressed wariness about the secretary's anti-vaccine views, that he would protect existing vaccination programs. Cassidy, who heads the health committee that would review Burgess' nomination, did not respond to a request for comment.

Absolutely enraging. All covid vaccines should be recalled. And no child under the age of 7 should be given ANY vaccine. There’s so much that’s wrong with Big Pharma, it’s almost impossible to list the problems. They need to be shut down. Or at least made liable for the harm they do.

Might want to let this play our a bit, considering the source.

The “Bongino Rule” would be especially appropriate for this report.

Dave Weldon - the original choice, vaccinates patients all the time, he is just against blanket, brainwashed mandates - it’s horrible what happened to him. 😔

Seems like RFK Jr would be a hell no on this guy.

Joseph LaPado would be a good choice

Before vaccines were introduced, huge amounts of children under 7 died of “childhood diseases” as they were known then.
Diphtheria, polio, pertussis, small pox, tetanus. Not even talking about measles, mumps and rubella, who were considered just nuisances.

Don't try to make CDC "better" with the likes of RFK or Burgess.

NUKE THE PATENTLY UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND DANGEROUS CDC!!!!

Absolutely. After he left congress and returned to practicing medicine, he was my primary care physician. I didn't know him well but he's a good doctor and a nice guy.

You guys are nuts.
Obviously, you have been raised under the vaccination regime and forgot how scarry life was before vaccines were introduced.
Just “a little cough”, and soon the child (or older person) was dead!
I sort of remember, and I remember my mother and grandma talking about it. And how many childhood friends they lost to things like diphtheria, now pretty much unknown around here.

Since most people are vaccinated, that reduces the number of possible carriers and basically helps even the unvaccinated.

But, if we stop vaccinating, these diseases will be back!

CHD, which of course is connected with RFK, had the same report.

Beyond disappointing.

Doctor Burgess was my Congressman until he retired this year. He is a fine, honest human being and a great man.

We are not all homeopath kooks. Trump’s initial choice, Dave Weldon, is an un-retired practicing internist who regularly vaccinates his patients!

The issue is that medical tyranny is out of hand right now. Covid exposed this.

Having qualms about the current infant vaccination regime and the levels to which parental jurisdiction over their children’s vaccine schedule has been undermined — this is the concern. Every parent should get to choose how and when their baby gets inoculated. Not just crammed an all one in one, one size fits all, constantly expanding regimen shoved unto their 5 month old’s body no questions asked!

It has gotten so out of hand that certain states want to literally change children’s genders without parents knowing. That’s the slippery slope we are on and have been on for decades. Must. Stop. Now.

If there was more transparency, more individual sovereignty, a lot of this chaod would die down.

Most vaccines up until now have been safe and effective. But my wife is in long-term care for dementia, due to the Covid jab.

Why can’t Trump find someone younger than a retired 74 year old Congressman? He should be appointing people who will lead the MAGA movement for the next 20-30 years.
