'Segregated facilities' are no longer explicitly banned in federal contracts

During the Summer of 1973, I was taking a microbiology class at Southwestern College in Chula Vista. The "student union" aka cafeteria had abundant seating. Nothing was set aside for any group or purpose. You saw tables with latinos, tables with blacks, tables with whites, tables with asians, and tables with mixed groups. It was a function of freedom of association.

In 1980, I was in instructor at Southwestern College. We had a break time as part of the 3 hours of class time on Tu/Th. What was different is the freedom of association was centered around being classmates. Discussions of what we just did in the lecture. How things are progressing on the lab assignments. My students ranged in age from 16 to 70, every ethnic group and color. Everyone was there to learn embedded programming.

My Dad was born in 1944 and went to an all-white elementary school in Bethesda, Maryland, back when that state was segregated. The segregation ended in Maryland after an international incident when some Nigerian diplomats were refused service at a restaurant due to their race.

The BS about federal contracts isn't coming from blacks. It's coming from the DNC spin machine looking to manipulate blacks.
