Sadly, Trump is right on Ukraine
The Hill ^ | 03/18/2025 | Alan J. Kuperman

Posted on 03/19/2025 11:46:46 AM PDT by Az Joe

I rarely agree with President Trump, but his latest controversial statements about Ukraine are mostly true. They seem preposterous only because western audiences have been fed a steady diet of disinformation about Ukraine for more than a decade. It is time to set the record straight on three key points that illuminate why Ukrainians and former President Joe Biden — not merely Russian President Vladimir Putin — bear significant responsibility for the outbreak and perpetuation of war in Ukraine.

First, as recently documented by overwhelming forensic evidence, and affirmed even by a Kyiv court, it was Ukrainian right-wing militants who started the violence in 2014 that provoked Russia’s initial invasion of the country’s southeast including Crimea. Back then, Ukraine had a pro-Russia president, Viktor Yanukovych, who had won free and fair elections in 2010 with strong support from ethnic Russians in the country’s southeast.

“Second, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky contributed to a wider war by violating peace deals with Russia and seeking NATO military aid and membership...”

“Third, Joe Biden too contributed crucially to the escalation and perpetuation of fighting. In late 2021, when Putin mobilized forces on Ukraine’s border and demanded implementation of the Minsk deals, it seemed obvious that unless Zelensky relented, Russia would invade to at least form a land bridge between Donbas and Crimea.

Considering that Ukraine already was existentially dependent on U.S. military assistance, if President Biden had insisted that Zelensky comply with Putin’s request, it would have happened...”

According to idiots here, and yellow-eyed talking news-heads, it’s all Putin’s fault... and Russia is losing.

Neither is true. Pre-internet they would have been able to sell those lies. Not anymore.

Losers don’t get to set terms.

I found it interesting how Russia/Putin asked, as part of the ceasefire deal, that the US stop war funding to Ukraine. The pro-Ukraine folks then started crying that that meant that Russia could rearm during the ceasefire but Ukraine couldn’t. Yes, Ukraine can rearm, they just can’t do it with our money. Basically, they admitted that they have no ability to purchase arms with their own funding and are completely reliant on our dollars. Time for that to stop!

Putin has been given a strong bargaining position by virtue of the Uke’s ‘invasion’ of Russia.

The couple of bitter ender Winston Z fans left around here will never admit the truth. Can you imagine being so consistently wrong and so loud about it for three years?

Perhaps one day they will have their “Come to MAGA Moment” too.

In war, the only winners are the arms manufacturers. Russia’s victory is Pyrrhic at best.

From the article ---- "...because western audiences have been fed a steady diet of disinformation about Ukraine for more than a decade."

President Trump and Vice-President Vance have been in office only a couple of months, and the "steady diet" --- some supplied daily by certain consistent individuals -- has made for ill will aplenty.

Into the fourth year of this war ( or special military operation, as is another term used ) this remains Biden's war in the sense that it broke out during his term in office That "steady diet" included Biden declaring the war lost by Russia, mid-2023. That "steady diet" including daily posting of YouTube channels' "analysis" and "news" which was spin in retrospect.

The article states: "It is time to set the record straight on three key points that illuminate why Ukrainians and former President Joe Biden — not merely Russian President Vladimir Putin — bear significant responsibility for the outbreak and perpetuation of war in Ukraine."

Yup. Putin, the Ukrainians and Biden have been the players for over three years' of war. And some in Europe want it to continue.

It’s sad that Biden got us into an unnecessary war that killed 400,000 young people. The mainstream media were also complicit in spreading a false narrative.

The poor Left is twisted into so many knots that they cannot get out of their own way anymore. They literally have to stand against the most basic and proper positions... in this case, Trump merely saying, “We just want the shooting and killing to stop”... and the Lefties have to rail against it and openly push for more war, and getting us closer to WWIII.

Happy to see that Russian bots just post on these types of articles and stay away from people who want to enjoy this web site at other articles .

Now watch: The Russian bots will call me names and tell me to leave. That is the depth of their ability to defend Russian propaganda.

I find there are idiots on both sides of this war.

Fact: Russia was not nearly as good as threatened
Fact: Ukraine did better than everyone expected

With that being said it doesn’t mean Russia lost nor does it mean Ukraine won or lost. Big picture it looks like Ukraine will lose some land, but not as much as Russia tried to take initially. Is that a win or loss?

Ukraine will not lose any land. No matter what happens.

The dirt is still there. Same for Russia.

What you’re talking about is a guy and appointed staff maybe losing office. Zelensky is not Ukraine. Putin is not Russia, though his election was much more recent.
