GOP Rep. Brandon Gill, Elon Musk push to impeach judge who scuttled Trump’s order to rapidly deport Venezuelan gangbangers

A federal judge who temporarily blocked President Trump’s bid to rapidly deport Venezuelan gang members via the 18th century Alien Enemies Act is facing an impeachment push — including by Elon Musk.

Shortly after the judge’s temporary order was issued, Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas) announced plans to file articles of impeachment against the judge, drawing praise from Musk.

“Necessary,” Musk wrote on X after Gill revealed his plans to introduce articles of impeachment against the judge.

Earlier in the day Saturday, US District Judge James Boasberg imposed a 14-day restraining order on Trump’s ability to use the 1798-era Alien Enemies Act to bypass the traditional immigration and criminal avenues in order to rapidly deport members of the notorious Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua.

Boasberg, who was appointed by President Barack Obama in 2011, further ordered “any plane containing these folks that is going to take off or is in the air needs to be returned to the United States however that is accomplished.”

But the order already came too late for some suspected gang members. On Sunday, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele posted dramatic video footage showing more than 250 Tren de Aragua and MS-13 members who were sent to the Central American country.

They will be held at the country’s notorious Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT), as part of a deal Bukele struck with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The judge’s temporary order came mere hours after Trump took executive action to invoke the 18th-century Alien Enemies Act and begin targeting members of the Venezuelan gang.

Musk, 53, has previously groused about federal judges who have held up or scuttled various actions by the Trump administration, particularly rulings that have hamstrung the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) efforts to root out waste.

In response to judge James Boasberg's move to halt the Trump administration's deportation of alleged gang members, Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) says he's filing articles of impeachment against the judge.

Also, In response to Boasberg's order (read all about it below), Attorney General Pam Bondi made an emergency filing with the DC Circuit Court to pause the order, asking the court to "halt this massive, unauthorized imposition on the Executive's authority to remove people that Defendants had determined to be members of TdA (Tren de Aragua).

Perhaps, as a flight risk, the Judge should be held at CECOT until the impeachment hearing are over. Also, he needs to be protected against anything bad happening to him. I think CECOT would be fairly secure.

Dan Bongino needs to get his agents to investigate the crooked judge and Bondi’s U.S. Attorney for D.C. needs to convene a grand jury to indict the judge for treason - giving aid and comfort to a self-declared enemy of the U.S.

Since there hasn’t been time for appeals, and the planes did not turn avround, this seems overly dramatic and premature — even if Boasberg deserves it.

The better course of action is to request immediate hearings before the Supreme Court on the specific case and the overall issue of Federal Judges misusing their power to thwart executive action for partisan reasons. The Chief Justice administrates the federal judiciary. He needs to give these judges the what for. When that doesn’t stop them, impeachment will be a much easier sell.

Jim Jordan, the head of the Judiciary Committee, has done nothing with the impeachment inquiry filed last month on a different judge. (I forget right now which one). Some Republicans in Congress are still working NOT to implement Trump’s agenda.

Just grandstanding - take the bastard to appeals court. Impeachment has only been done in cases of treason, bribery, etc and only 15 times in the history of the US.

The power to issue universal injunctions has never been established in court, they are just acting as if it has been.

Getting a TRO has a low bar, judges issue them all the time without much proof, just a claim that immediate action is required to stop something from happening. Usually only good for a week or two.

This judge went to Yale and was a member of Skull and Bones - so he’s wired into the deep state and people like the Bushes. He presided over many J6 cases and gave them unusually long sentences. IIRC maybe 40 or 50 cases. He’s a bad guy.

Folks for the last time he’s not going to get impeached. No judge sitting on the bench who are corrupt rogue activist judges are going to get impeached. Understand you need 60 votes in the Senate to impeach the POS. Trump’s team has to take their cases to the Supreme Court. Good luck with that but nonetheless that’s the only way! So Stop with the wishful nonsense that they can be impeached they’re not. UNLESS Bondi and Kash find some nefarious deep down corruption then they can be booted out. Hell I say make one up that’s what they did to Trump hoax after hoax! SWAT their homes and plant evidence like they did to Trump. REVENGE is the only cure that ails America!

Impeachment is useless. Dims in the senate will protect the judge. Eliminate his court, simple majority vote. Could be over today, but no not our congress.
