Yep. It would’ve been better to avoid the potential problem in the first place. Europe, when it had survival instincts, kept them out repeatedly until after WW2, then they lost their minds. The Spanish took 700 years to kick out the Moors and let them in the back door 500 years later, along with the rest of Europe. Regarding Texas and elsewhere in the U.S., make sure your horses are watered and fed, and your guns are oiled and ammunition plentiful.
