The Healdsburg Police Department apprehended Damian Martines-Osorio yesterday following a violent incident that occurred at the Healdsburg Community Center a week prior. Martines-Osorio, 29, was arrested on charges of attempted murder, vandalism, and resisting arrest after an extensive investigation led officers to Los Gatos, as reported in a social media post from the Healdsburg Police Department.
The suspect, who was living under an alias after allegedly fleeing Healdsburg, attempted to elude capture by running from the authorities when approached. He was ultimately taken into custody after trying to scale a fence. The department stated that he had been booked into the Sonoma County Jail and was held without bail. This pertains not only to the current charges but also to three other outstanding warrants.
Previously, the Healdsburg Police Department had issued a search for Martinez Osorio in connection to a knife attack in the community center's parking lot. The victim, after confronting Martinez Osorio for slashing tires, sustained a hand injury in a subsequent struggle, according to an article posted on Hoodline. The suspect reportedly fled into a nearby creek bed following the altercation.
Law enforcement's attempts to locate Martinez Osorio after the incident were exhaustive, involving a three-hour search with support from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and CHP's helicopter. He was described as a fugitive, with the Healdsburg Police Department urging the public to be vigilant and to report any information that could lead to his apprehension. Despite these efforts, it was the sustained investigative work of Healdsburg officers, with support from Los Gatos, that eventually led to the arrest and brought the alleged assailant into custody.
Illegal?
Los Gatos is a pretty ritzy town - was back in the day
Healdsburg is wine country central. If it weren’t for the last name of the alleged perp, you might be looking for a ruddy lad named Biff in a polo shirt!
Plenty of Hispanics working the vineyards. You just don’t see many of them in the high end restaurants and winery tasting rooms that abound in Healdsburg and Sonoma County in general.
Jacob Borkholder of Lancaster, Pa. would have been my guess...
I remember it as being a very lovely town too. The area is beautiful.
Spent 20 years in NorCal. That area IS very beautiful from SF up to Mendocino or down to Santa Cruz was magic. The only thing I miss of leaving California for retirement is those weekend getaways to the redwoods and wine country.
Oh for a weekend in Boonville.
I rented a cute little house in Albion for a year. Big fenced yard for my dog and two cats, could walk down the road to the post office and tiny grocery store. Had a good friend in Mendocino who owned a little herb shop. Met her there, friends for life.
Very affordable then. House is long gone and new house on that lovely property
more than a million $$
