BBC ^ | March 13, 2025 | Jeremy Bowen

The president of Poland, Andrzej Duda, has repeated his call for the US to base nuclear weapons on Polish soil.

In the presidential palace in Warsaw, he told me that it would make Poland stronger and safer, as it faces Russia.

Viewed from Poland, President Putin's Russia is a clear and a present danger.

President Duda, who is also commander-in-chief of the rapidly expanding Polish armed forces, said today's Russia is at least as aggressive as the former Soviet Union.

He condemned what he called Moscow's imperial greed.

Like Soviet missiles in Cuba served as a deterrent?

Duda and the EU will do anything to stifle peace and keep tensions with Russia alive.

Poland is calling for nukes storage n their country after Russia violated the nuclear non proliferation treaty by bringing nuclear missiles to Belarus - directly on EU’s border.

And lets not forget that Russia now also has nuclear missiles in Kaliningrad - right in the middle of Europe!
Thus, some nuclear missiles in ready to fly from Poland would bring some equilibrium. A fair move.

Thermonuclear devices are an engineering and fissile material production problem, not a technical one. Anybody with the will and the $$$ can develop one.

So you accept the fact that only Russia can put in place nuclear missiles on Europe’s borders - Kaliningrad and Belarus. And that we are not allowed to reciprocate?

that is not equilibrium.

poland and france have insane “leaders” -
who are begging their people to ‘glow in the dark’,
with equilibrium only to follow a few centuries thereafter.

They would also be divisive, which is not want we want too accomplish here, Duda. We are trying to prevent a 3rd World War, not ensure its happening.

How did Europeans become so stupid?

They were already there, if I recall correctly. Obama removed them in his first term.

They tried that back in 1962 and it didn’t workout too good for them as the US Navy blockaded Cuba and JFK dared them to try and run the blockade and they backed down. I believe at that time JFK was 15 minutes away from launching nukes at Russia.
