Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly ruled out a temporary break in hostilities, saying it would only benefit Ukraine and its Western allies by letting them replenish their arsenals. He has insisted Moscow wants a comprehensive agreement that would ensure a lasting settlement.
The Kremlin responded cautiously to the news of Ukraine accepting the U.S.-proposed truce during Tuesday’s talks in Saudi Arabia, saying that it needs to know details of the discussions before expressing its view.

Of course Putin knows it’s permanent. The day it is signed Brits and French and probably Pole “peacekeepers” will flood in and fan out all over Ukraine. Their planes will flood into Uke airbases and start no-fly patrols.
From that moment on, Russia will have zero bargaining power over sanctions, NATO etc. Ukraine will be a defacto member of NATO form that moment on. And the Ukes SBU will be free do whatever they please with assassinations and bombings and sabotage inside Russia that they can deny, and Russia cannot hit back without hitting NATO.
They aren’t falling for this.
Zelensky is using the old Viet Cong strategy. Ukraine is getting hammered and Zelensky wants a cessation of activity. I cannot wait until that clown is gone.

Putin will do a cease fire when he is good and ready to. All the Ukraine trolls that went on endlessly here about Ukraine winning, nope. Not sure where or when Russia will stop in the region. They have now crossed the Dnipro river. Really not our business. Let Russia reabsorb Ukraine and it will be over. Stalin carved out Ukraine for census reasons. Putin has described this as the start of many issues in the last 100 plus years.
