"Please, please, please — the media is not showing you anything." The slaughter isn't limited to Christians, as members of the Alawite faith are also being murdered by the forces in control of most of post-Assad Syria.
To be fair, the whole sordid mess seems to have kicked off last week as Assad regime dead-enders (the Assad family is Alawite, a syncretic religion with Muslim, Christian, and other elements) with attacks that "included killings and mass displacement of civilians along the country’s Mediterranean coast," according to a Wall Street Journal report today.
Dareen Khalifa, a senior adviser at International Crisis Group, claimed that the Alawite forces were "baited into" last week's attacks, "and they definitely walked into the trap and acted in the worst possible way." The new Syrian regime, established after the fall of Bashar al-Assad last year, is led by former al Qaeda terrorist Ahmed al-Sharaa. I always wonder how "former" he actually is.

When Syria achieved formal independence from France in 1946, a quarter of the population was Alawite or Christian, with nearly identical numbers representing each faith. Another 1% was Jewish. Today, there are virtually no Jews remaining in Syria, and war and emigration drastically reduced the Christian share of the population to barely 3%.
Call it a "soft genocide," the slow cleansing of majority-Muslim lands of the Christians and Jews who predate them by hundreds or thousands of years, by whatever means are at hand.

I cannot remember who, but I remember one of the Zeepers here INSISTING that Assad was a horrible monster, when he actually was PROTECTING Christians...but then again, if I got off on White Christians killing each other, perhaps I would have thought the same about Assad.

I also SPECIFICALLY remember the CELEBRATING of the Zeepers over Assad being toppled as, to them, ANYTHING that makes Putin looks bad is good news, even though we told them that genocide was next for the Christians trapped in Syria.
But yes, the Zeepers won that round. But not so easy for the Zeepers to move on to their next genocide, the Russians who were trapped in Ukraine - that genocide will be stopped with nukes, should it become necessary.
I tried to watch a couple of the videos, I couldn’t finish and made my stomach turn. Why didn’t they go south? They should have known what was coming.

Alawite clergy plea to Israel:
Alawite leaders sent an urgent letter to the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister: “Save us from the brutal regime, we will receive you with
songs and flowers.” The letter also includes a surprising appeal to the Israeli media: “Shed light on the massacres”
The letter was sent to senior Israeli officials, among others, through contacts in the region who mediate between the local population and the
State of Israel, and was written on behalf of the leadership and senior sheikhs of the Alawites in Syria.
The full letter:
“In his name, Lord Moses, David, Jesus and Muhammad
We, the Alawite clerics, issue the following statement after our meeting in one of the coastal villages:
After the fall of the Assad regime and the assumption of power in Syria by an extremist Islamic group that adopts killing, kidnapping,
displacement, and intimidation as a method and way to rule and dominate, and after the massacres and violations that occurred in the Alawite
areas against their people in Tartus, Latakia, Homs, Hamma, and Damascus, and after the crimes of ethnic genocide with the exception of the
State of Israel, which spoke the truth and echoed the truth and condemned these criminal acts.
We declare our demand from the government of Israel, represented by its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to provide protection, assistance,
aid and support, because the entire world has been silent about our injustice, and we have only heard a voice from the State of Israel
condemning the crimes committed by the Damascus government against the Alawites, and for that we thank it.
We say to the Jewish state, we extend our hands to you and we will be your best and most loyal friends, so that you can rid us of this
extremist Islamic rule that will be a place for training and preparing groups from which they will launch their fight against you. In the
past, you have suffered from the Islamists and known their crimes, and the treacherous terrorists of Islamic terrorism are the best example of
the Hamas movement and terrorism as an example of terrorism and terror. And the Hamas movement is establishing a base in Syria that will be a
launching point for action against you.
- We demand that the IDF move its planes and forces to protect us.
- We ask that the Israeli Ministry of Defense move its warships and warships towards the coast.

Big blow to the Americans: The Kurds who are supported by them signed an agreement today with the terrorist Julani for a ceasefire and their “integration into the Syrian army.” Julani’s forces will also enter the territories held by the Americans and Kurds east of the Euphrates River, where gas fields are located, up to the border crossings with Iraq.
A state of emergency has been declared in Iraq, as the fear is of an invasion by Sunni Islamists into Iraq. As part of the agreement, Julani will accept responsibility for thousands of ISIS prisoners, meaning they will be released, after all, they are his brothers in arms!
