Vice President Vance said on Wednesday (5 March) he thinks President Trump is hoping to finish building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border by the end of his term in 2029.
During a visit to Eagle Pass, Texas, a reporter asked Vance how he and the president would define “success” when it comes to the initiative and how much of the border needs to be “walled off” before the end of Trump’s administration.
“I think the president’s hope is that by the end of the term we build the entire border wall,” the Vice President replied...
...The Vice President pointed to AI-enabled cameras that can spot migrants up to 2 miles away from the border, before they cross over.
“We’re using artificial intelligence to make us better at the job of border enforcement, but we’ve got to make sure that technology is deployed across the entire American southern border,” Vance said.

Thinking a lot of job seekers in the d.c. are won’t be looking for work in TX, NM, AZ or cali.
Can that border wall be scaled with ropes and ladders? Yes it can. Is the border wall effective? Yes it is. Scaling the wall is somewhat difficult but can be done. The wall is in open territory easily observable with electronics and cameras. We would know what is happening and send the Border Patrol quickly.
By simply enforcing the law today the illegal crossings are down more than 90%. Build the rest of the wall and stop it all. If you are an illegal trying to cross will you pay the cartels many thousands of dollars to get you to the USA with a plus 90% probability of getting caught and sent back to your country of origin? The cartel does not give refunds.
I thought it was just a few months short of completion in 2021.
The deadline should be January 2027.
True, the wall will help with smuggling, cutting off the $ will stop most.
The rate it is being built I would imagine quicker than 2029

The wall slows them down enough to allow Border Patrol to get there and round them up. Plus only the fit ones can scale the wall.
