Sen. Graham on Ukraine aid pause: ‘If we pull the plug on Ukraine, it’d be worse than Afghanistan’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said on Sunday he is worried about the consequences of suspending aid and intelligence sharing to Ukraine as the fighting continues against Russia.

“Yeah, I am worried about cutting off intelligence and weapons to Ukraine as long as the fighting is going on,” Graham said on Fox News Channel’s “Fox News Sunday.”

“If we pull the plug on Ukraine, it’d be worse than Afghanistan. I don’t think President Trump has any desire to do that,” he continued. “But until we have a ceasefire, I would give Ukraine what they need in terms of intelligence and weapons to themselves.”

Graham has been critical of the way Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky handled the now-infamous Oval Office meeting with President Trump and Vice President Vance.

No, it wouldn’t because we don’t have boots on the ground.

That's the official story anyway. *wink wink*

“I am worried about cutting off intel and weapons to Ukraine,” Graham said
on “Fox News,” likening the move to the disastrous Afghanistan debacle.

How could it be another Afghanistan when birdbrain Biden’s not in charge of it?

Worse for him. I think they want to take a look at him. Are a lot of our people, our best and brightest, about to get killed and maimed? If not, then what is he doing representing us? Are we leaving behind an airfield for enemies of the are to take over and use? Is there $83 Billion in weapons and ammo at stake here?

If not, then what is it that this guy cares so much about?

He’s about as wrong as it gets on this. Ukraine is a European problem. Let them figure it out.

Consider the pattern of negotiations that occurred between Trump and the Taliban over Afghanistan. In those negotiations the government that we set up in Afghanistan was initially excluded, just as Ukraine has been excluded so far from any contact or negotiations Trump has had with Putin.

The negotiations over our departure from Afghanistan were concluded without any guarantees running for the protection of our indigenous allies there.

So far, the pattern matches what's happening in Ukraine, no guarantees for Ukrainian security.

The collapse of Ukrainian resistance would trigger a massive flow of soldiers, government officials, and civilian refugees to the west of Ukraine and over the borders. Poland would likely intervene to occupy a large slice of west Ukraine, potentially putting the Polish and Russian militaries in each other’s sights.

“…our indigenous allies there”

Who are they? How are we similarly obligated to them? Are they as related to us as our own military? Our interpreters we’ve set up?

Why can’t you voters of South Carolina get rid of this drama queen? It’s always about him. And 90% of the time he’s wrong.

Seems like Lindsay Graham is the Republicans Chuck Schumer when it comes to Sunday talk shows.
