Canada's governing Liberals will announce a replacement for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Sunday as the country deals with U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff threats and as a federal election looms.

Liberal Party members look set to pick former central bank governor Mark Carney as the new party leader and Canada's next prime minister in a vote to be announced on Sunday evening.

Carney, 59, navigated crises when he was the head of the Bank of Canada and when in 2013 he became the first noncitizen to run the Bank of England since it was founded in 1694. His appointment won bipartisan praise in the U.K. after Canada recovered from the 2008 financial crisis faster than many other countries.

How is a levelling of the playing field seen as a ‘war’? How did expecting some fairness become bellicosity?

It’s not “Trump’s trade war”.

An acrid turd replaced by a putrid turd, is still just a turd.

Harder for Pollievre to win against this guy than Trudeau, especially with Trump’s tariff threats helping Liberal support.

Carney has three passports. So to which country does he belong?

NONE

He’s a London Banker, Klaus Schwab, Davos globalist-socialist, through-and-through.

and Trump sees these people, and their Atlanticist cohorts in the US Deep State, as enemies

Its why he’s focusing on Canada.

I thought Georgy Soros was the first non-UK citizen to run the Bank of England.

Marx Carney almost destroyed the UK’s economy. He did next to nothing to save the Canadian economy during the 2008 economic crisis. Jim Flaherty, the Minister of Finance, steered Canada through that crisis.

The only saving grace is that he is likely to call an election shortly after being ‘coronated’.

Marx Carney has been True-dolt’s economic advisor since 2011, and is an even more zealous WEFer.

If they elect the Ukrainian bitch there’s a good chance that the ‘trade war’ will become a ‘hot war’.

No war, just reciprocal.

The war is Canada sending fentanyl into the US to kill our citizens.

Canada has never imposed tariffs on a single item covered by the USMCA free trade agreement. The only time a tariff would be imposed is if someone oversold the agreed quota and tried to saturate the market. That has never happened.
Most of what Canada sells the US is natural resources that manufacturers need to produce their finished products. We sell you 4.4 million barrels of oil per day with a 20% discount to keep your fuel prices down, and President Trump wants to put a tariff on it, raising your fuel prices.

The Liberals are using the anti Trump sentiment as a wedge to remain in power. They will call an election as quick as they can now to ride this bump and it might even work. The voters are going to regret it, oh boy are going to regret it.

Except for that 200+% tariff on US dairy products. And the 20% tariff on US beef.
