Norway boosts spending on Ukraine by NOK 50 billion ($4.6 billion) Has benefited from high gas prices Norway lags Nordic neighbours on Ukraine aid

OSLO, March 6 (Reuters) - Norway will more than double its financial pledge to Ukraine this year while also hiking its own defence spending, the prime minister said on Thursday, declaring the Nordic country faced its most serious security situation for 80 years. Norway, home to the world's largest sovereign wealth fund with assets of $1.8 trillion, has seen soaring income from gas sales to Europe as a result of Russia's 2022 Ukraine invasion, and faces pressure at home and abroad to increase its aid. The government and opposition leaders agreed on Thursday to raise this year's Ukraine funding to 85 billion Norwegian crowns ($7.83 billion), up from a plan agreed in November of 35 billion crowns, Labour Party Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere said.

The Nordic nation now faces "the most serious security situation for our country since World War II", Stoere said in an address to parliament earlier on Thursday. He said he would come back to parliament at a later time with revised defence spending plans.

...Norway's opposition Conservative Party supported the increase, and said further increases could be considered later this year.

Great!

Let the Globalists in Norway shoulder the next World War if that is what they want!

Norway is a “frontline” country, and under recent events is no longer confident that NATO - the US - will defend it. Norway has largely depended on the USN for defense and the Marines to come to the rescue in case of Russian/Soviet attack from Murmansk. Those were, once, the assumptions and war plans. This is why it is now “the most serious security situation for our country since World War II”, Stoere said.

European panic over the end of the Ukraine War and American funding is hilarious. If the moochers had funded their militaries instead of laughing at America while they robbed us blind they wouldn’t be in this mess. I’m starting to think that the Biden administration was under the total control of the EU.

Just another adjustment based on US policy.
Consider it an FYI.

We do not want the euronations to drag us into their third world war. I hope Trump makes it clear we will not participate.

Might as well throw it down the toilet. Zelensky and his boys will be stuffing their suitcases and wiring that little offering all over the world before the total collapse.

But, Norway can at least feel virtuous as they get their pockets picked. Bottoms up Norway!🤪🤪

“They act like the USA is the enemy.”

It is time to start thinking that way. That’s why the end of the Pax Americana is a bad thing. All default trust is going, going, gone. A multipolar world is unpredictable.

It is always the same with the foreign ingrates. Cut their USA cash off and what they really feel surfaces.

Whatever. There is blowback from Trumps policies, now going way beyond the immediate problem. What to do about it? Who knows.

We aren’t ending it. The EU and the UK are with their ridiculous mutterings and fearmongering. They don’t always do what we want them to do, yet here we are, proclaimed their dire enemy now.

We really do not need loopy friends like that.

🤡🤡🤡🤡

Blowback from the usual blowhards. What to do about it? Ignore them and full steam ahead (go Trump).

Why don’t you pull up stakes and get out of here. I am tired of your whining about Trump. There is a home for you over at DU.

Why just 7.8 Billion? Why not 20 Billion? Why not send 100% of Norway’s weapons to the brave Ukrainian freedom Fighters? How about giving 90 % of Norway’s GDP to Kiev to support them in their war on Russia? No Norwegian is safe with evil Putin on the march? Best to give it all to Zelenskyy. Better yet—Norway should send her army and navy to fight in Ukraine to push out the Russians from sacred Ukraine lands! England could send her whole army, navy and air force to beat Russia! Russia is so weak the British horse guard could beat the Russian shovel armed conscripts—who will surrender at the very sight of a Union Jack.

I remember not too long ago that the Democrats and world swamp absolutely loved Europe being controlled by women especially the defense ministers. They would bring peace and sanity because the men are war mongers. These women are a step away from WWIII funding a unwinnable war pushing NATO into Putin’s doorstep.
