The Blue Moon brewery and restaurant in the River North Art District area of downtown Denver announced Thursday that it plans to close its doors this month.
Blue Moon Brewing Company was founded in Denver in 1995. According to the website, its first Belgian-style wheat ale was brewed in the SandLot Brewery at Coors Field.
Colorado lost 41 breweries in 2024, beer sales down more than national average The brewery at 3750 Chestnut Pl. opened in 2016 and allowed Blue Moon to create and experiment with new and unique ingredients, the website said.
Blue Moon Rino serves beers that can only be found at that location, along with a full food menu of weekly specials, appetizers, burgers, entrees and desserts.
In a post on Instagram, the brewery announced that it would close its doors before the end of March.
Blue Moon Rino released the following statement:
“Everyone at Blue Moon Brewing would like to thank you for the years of support and loyal patronage as we approach the end of our time here at the Rino Brewery. With a heavy heart, we will be doing our final Last Call Saturday, March 29th and invite you for one last visit (or many) over the upcoming weeks. We would love to see you all one last time! CHEERS,”

Even a Coors offshoot can’t make it in downtown Denver.
RiNo brewery goes bankrupt? Anyone else see the irony of this?
Won’t be missed.
BlueMoon, which I have had, is recycled RiNo p*ss.
Why is this here? Any idea?
Several factors.
It's a oversaturated market when it comes to breweries.
Gen Z are not big drinkers. So there are fewer potential customers compared to Millenials/Baby Boomers.

Yep. Very oversaturated.
And a lot of the Gen Zs are doing gummies, edibles, or smoking weed. It’s so common place now and legal in many states.
Beer sales are down, but I bet weed sales are way up!
Seriesly, RiNo??
My late wife’s favorite beer!
Oh you’re kidding me? we drink Blue Moon all the time with orange slices on hot summer evenings. Mr. GG2 will be crushed. 😣
So they won't wake up and realize maybe they should vote for Trump.
Yeah, it's why the Democrats are pro-legalization.
“Gen Z are not big drinkers.”
and seem to like those clear soda-pop-like low-alcohol beverages ... Zima, you wuz b4 yore time ...
first, Zima and now Blue Moon ... how can Coors possibly survive ...
so-called artisanal breweries, like Walgreens, were grossly overbuilt in colorado, seeming like there was one of each on practically every corner ... now there’s just one on every-other corner ... [same thing happened with pot shops: there literally USED to be at least one pot shop on every block of east colfax when the pot shop land rush first got going good in colorado ...]
Blue Moon Belgian White is brewed at multiple locations, including Golden, Colorado which is a much nicer and safer location than Denver’s RiNo District.
So never fear, we can still buy it. I too love it on hot summer days with orange slices.
Seltzer alcoholic drinks have taken a bite out of traditional beer brands.
They are lighter, usually comparably priced with approximately the same alcohol content.
C'mon. Who drinks beer like this??
Might as well have a little umbrella in it.
Nobody buys Bluemoon when Bell’s Two Hearted is available on tap.
Californians moving to Colorado wouldn’t be found dead drinking a beer. Its chardonnay all the way, dotcha know.
