Arming Ukraine: A closer look at US military aid as Trump freezes further shipments
CNN ^ | 3-8-25 | Rachel Wilson and Soph Warnes

President Donald Trump recently halted all future shipments of military aid to Ukraine after a heated meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office last week exacerbated a chasm in US-Ukraine relations.

Western allies anticipate that Ukraine could sustain its current fighting pace for several weeks before the stoppage in US assets would start to affect operations.

With the pause likely to remain in place until Trump is satisfied with what he sees as Zelensky’s commitment to peace talks, CNN looks at what exactly was in the military aid sent by the United States so far, how much was sent and how a prolonged halt could start to impact Ukraine’s war efforts.

The US has given $69 billion in military aid

The US is the largest single donor to the war-torn nation, sending at least $123 billion in total aid to Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. Military aid made up $69 billion of that, or 56% of the US total, according to data from Kiel Institute for the World Economy, a German think tank that closely tracks wartime aid to Ukraine.

See how aid from the US, the European Union and its institutions, and all other countries stacks up:

The United States is a top aid provider to Ukraine, having contributed more than 40% of total support

The European Union has also allocated a similar share. And most of the aid has come in the form of military and financial support, with the US alone providing nearly half of Ukraine's military aid over the past three years. Ukraine has expanded its domestic production of military equipment including the manufacturing of drones and artillery munitions. This week, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said it now produces more than 30% of the equipment and ammunition needed...

Dictator Zelensky has shown us his seething contempt for we American Taxpayers.

Peace is the last thing on his mind.

The longer the war goes on, the wealthier he becomes.

Not another dime AND no security guarantees.

Yesterday even the western media reported that Ukrainian forces are almost surrounded in Kursk

If reports this morning are true Russia has launched a major assault on what is left of the Ukrainian forces in Kursk

Both Russian and Ukrainian sources report very intense battles in multiple directions

Sounds like a lot of this military aid in that region will be destroyed or captured

Well, the “security guarantees” are just capitulation to the Deep State. They are the ones who wanted this Forever War in District 1.

“Not another dime AND no security guarantees.”

And the result of that, which we are just days into, is the ongoing emergence of another nuclear armed power block no longer even under semi-control by the US. Things are moving very fast. It used to be the US had a free hand, with a huge chunk of global GDP content to be its entourage and trustfully follow. These guys may not have been too useful on their own, but they weren’t in the opposition. THATs what’s changing.

The US is going to find it much harder to make deals in a world of many “great powers”.

Thanks for the video showing the UKE military vehicle junkyard.

Storm into Russia and you’re surrounded by RUSSIANS?

I’m shocked!

You are just a lonely, foreign voice from within the EUSSR. Why in the hell would we, as Americans, give a damn what you say? You have commented, and I quote, “The US simply wasn't significant to world history until it became the leading technological player. All the words generated in the US, the constitution, the declaration of independence, all the law libraries, which Americans like to worship, are futile superstitions. Merest words.”

“Why in the hell would we, as Americans, give a damn what you say?”

Because the first step to failure is to listen only to yes-men? This is how the Democrats got into their communications bubble. Its how those idiots defeated themselves. You want to do the same thing, which seems very strange.

Zelensky is a Meat Puppet. He only takes orders from his handlers (Ukrainian oligarchs? WEF? Nancy Pelosi?). The minute there's peace with Russia, the huge money-spigot from the US will stop.

Zelensky does know one thing- being a former Slavic dictator isn't a very healthy way to live (think Trotsky, Mihailovich, Beria, Ceaucesceau). I'm guessing he's trying to get Donald Trump to send him into Witness Protection with all the Billions he stole from us.

“sending at least $123 billion in total aid to Ukraine”

It’s far more than that. Brandon separated reporting so that the WHite House reported a portion of funding as if it were the total, the Defense Dept reported a portion, the State Departement reported a portion etc. They all reported fragments.

By around July of last year, they ‘found’ more money to send due to an ‘accounting error’ and at that time, known aid was $189 Billion. Trump says it’s $350 or higher, so he likely knows how much of that sweet sweet NGO money from USAID, State Department, etc. was also contributed.

You really stepped in the 💩 when you let slip your mask and attacked America's founding documents 🇺🇸. Your costume of fake patriotism for America can never be put back on again in this forum because I will not let anyone on this forum forget what you really believe. You essentially have two choices, go away forever or to come back under another handle to try to trick us again.

To quote JonPreston, Go away you anti-American, H1B lawn jockey.

--- "Merest words.” So says the monarchist.

The URL showing his comment starts at the top of the thread is:

What makes the whole inane is that "merest words" -- whether in United States founding documents, or Scripture and commentaries on scripture like his favored "Thomas Aquinas and De Maistre," is that they ALL are conducted in words.

Denigrating all words is idiocy. denigrating "some" words is the act of a partisan for a position and something we all do. His denigration was made clear by him:

"All the words generated in the US, the constitution, the declaration of independence, all the law libraries, which Americans like to worship, are futile superstitions. Merest words.”
Doesn't qualify him as a worthy interlocutor.

After all, "merest words..." --- "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Why should any patriotic American take any of your poisoned foreign advice? Reverence for the Constitution is one of the pillars that assists Americans in resisting the globalist from turning America into just another totalitarian kleptocracy like the EUSSR.

GFY.

There is a reason all service members from E1 to the President take an oath to the Constitution and not to a person. Zelensky and Putin are both examples of why we support words and ideas , not people who are after all just passing through time. God Bless America.

If Zelenskyy would accept Trump’s peace offer there wouldn’t be any need for additional weapons.

To read this coming from a twat that recently extolled the virtues of monarchy is the height of hypocrisy.
