References to a World War II Medal of Honor recipient, the Enola Gay aircraft that dropped an atomic bomb on Japan and the first women to pass Marine infantry training are among the tens of thousands of photos and online posts marked for deletion as the Defense Department works to purge diversity, equity and inclusion content, according to a database obtained by The Associated Press.
The database, which was confirmed by U.S. officials and published by AP, includes more than 26,000 images that have been flagged for removal across every military branch. But the eventual total could be much higher.
One official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to provide details that have not been made public, said the purge could delete as many as 100,000 images or posts in total, when considering social media pages and other websites that are also being culled for DEI content. The official said it's not clear if the database has been finalized.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had given the military until Wednesday to remove content that highlights diversity efforts in its ranks following President Donald Trump’s executive order ending those programs across the federal government.
The vast majority of the Pentagon purge targets women and minorities, including notable milestones made in the military. And it also removes a large number of posts that mention various commemorative months — such as those for Black and Hispanic people and women.

I do remember there was a lot of Nazi art(paintings) that was taken down and returned to Germany. It’s sad it wasn’t allowed to be displayed in US museums before the return.

Bingo. Its malicious compliance. This is like the ole Washington Monument ploy. When there would be limited government funding or any kind of budget tussle, they leftists would shut down the Washington Monument or other very high profile things that are going to upset people (not obscure things that waste money which were the subject of the debate) and then their propaganda arm the corporate media gets hysterical and screams about the Washington Monument being closed.

The AI has had tremendous improvements lately, but it is still occasionally very dumb.
Up until recently when asking the Google AI to show you a picture of “Swedish King” it showed you a picture of Adolf Hitler.
It was because for centuries the Swedish royal family had a custom of adding “Adolf” as one of the names of their important members. Google AI put 2 and 2 together, got 22, and showed you the picture of Hitler.

In the first place, I find it hard to believe that Trump would want to delete references to Enola Gay. But imagine if a Democrat ordered the purge of references and photos of Enola Gay, the HBM would be all ga-ga for the removal of "war-monger items". And they might even "blame" the dropping of the bomb on Republicans.

This is the AP. While there may be some actual facts in the story, they are presented in a propaganda way to push the AP’s narrative of Orange Man bad. The AP is still butt hurt that they were called our on the Gulf of America naming and removed from AF1 and organizations allowed to go in the Oval Office. Nothing out the the AP can be trusted as truth, especially when it takes three dunce writers to produce an article.
