Syrian security forces accused of executing dozens of Alawites

Syrian security forces are alleged to have executed 52 people belonging to the Alawite minority in the coastal province of Latakia, according to one war monitoring group.

Footage seen by the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights shows dozens of bodies in civilian clothing piled up in the garden of a house in Latakia.

An interior ministry source told the country's official news agency Sana said that "individual violations" had occurred on the coast and pledged to put a stop to them.

BBC News has not been able to verify claims that the killings were committed by the forces of Syria's new rulers.

This followed clashes between government forces and fighters loyal to the deposed President Bashar al-Assad, which left more than 70 dead.

A curfew has been imposed in the cities of Homs, Latakia and Tartous, where the fighting has broken out.

Earlier, BBC Verify confirmed two videos that showed a body being dragged behind a car in Latakia.

According to reports from Syria :
69 members of the Alawite community were executed by the new regime’s security forces. 9:00AM

Syria: Revenge time is here and the HTS gang of Julani arrived in the coastal towns of Tartus and Latakia to humiliate and massacre the Alawites.
Now you understand why Israel can’t afford these Jihadists on its borders!

Photo’s are typical (HTS) ISIS inhuman massacre of civilians and armed Alawites (and others).

Islam explicitly forbids Mozlems killing Mozlems. Of course if they are not the right kind of Mozlem then light them up! I was surprised to learn they kill more of each other than infidels.

The United States is responsible for the fall of the Assad regime.

Assad did a pretty good job of protecting minorities in Syria.

The Christian minority in particular was well protected.

The Muslim Middle East is only led by dictators. You need a very good reason to topple one. Otherwise you are better off leaving well enough alone.

If you topple a Middle East dictator you are very likely to get someone worse to replace him and only after years of strife and death.

The problem in this rats nest is anyone could be responsible.

Assuming the new Government did that is a possible. So is it also likely some other faction of “rebels” did it. Muslim sects been slaughtering other Muslims as a form of “pacification” for centuries

This doesn’t surprise me a bit.

Now that Assad is gone, it’s time to settle many old scores.

But it won’t be limited to Sunni vs Alawite. Everyone wants their pound of flesh - literally and figuratively.

Druze in southern Syria, including eastern suburbs of Damascus, are also rebelling against Syria’s Islamist rulers. Mass slaughter is minimal due to IDF support for Druze.

Israel should annex southern Syria which is near Golan Heights.

Within low single digit miles of central Damascus. Of course Israel is within 46 miles of Damascus, so maybe HTS will move its capital to where its heart lies - Hama, the center of Syrian Islamism.

Not really Shia, a heretical off-shoot from Shia. Some scholars say they’re descended from a Christian sect called Nazarenes or Nazorites and blended early on with early Shia. When Syria was a French protectorate, the French used the Alawites to run the country that’s how Assad and his clan got started. I imagine they’re getting decades of payback now.
