Marshals Escort DOGE Team Into African Aid Agency
New York Times ^ | Mar 6, 2025 | Karoun Demirjian and Maansi Srivastava

A day earlier, U.S. African Development Foundation workers had refused entry to Department of Government Efficiency workers and the State Department official in charge of foreign aid.

Federal marshals on Thursday escorted officials from the Department of Government Efficiency into the U.S. African Development Foundation, a day after its employees refused entry to the Trump administration’s budget-slashing unit and Pete Marocco, the State Department official in charge of foreign aid.

Once inside, security officials were directed to change the federal agency’s locks, according to a security official at the scene. Mr. Marocco was seen entering the building separately from DOGE officials, according to video posted online, and the security official said he was briefly in the building.

Thursday’s takeover of the small foundation, which has about 55 employees and an annual budget of about $45 million, came after a weekslong standoff between administration officials and the foundation’s leaders. The leaders refused to succumb to the efforts of Mr. Marocco and the Department of Government of Efficiency team, overseen by Elon Musk, to assume control of their functions, dismiss staff members and install Mr. Marocco as the acting leader...

On Wednesday, the test of wills came to a head when Mr. Marocco and at least two of Mr. Musk’s deputies — Jacob Altik, a lawyer, and Ethan Shaotran, a software engineer — were denied entry to the offices, according to Mr. Brehm and video captured at the foundation. Mr. Marocco threatened to return with U.S. Marshals and the Secret Service if they were not allowed access.

Mr. Altik and Mr. Shaotran did not respond to requests for comment. But both were seen entering the building that houses the foundation on Thursday, alongside other members of Mr. Musk’s team, including Nate Cavanaugh.

55 employees with a budget of 45 million dollars. Works out to 818,000 per employee. I wonder how much aid actually got to Africa. I’m sure they kept detailed records.

employees refused entry to the Trump administration's budget-slashing unit and Pete Marocco, the State Department official in charge of foreign aid.

You have to wonder if federal employees know the meaning of the word, “insubordination?” If Pete M is the State Department official in charge of foreign aid and the office is all about foreign aid, then what reason could the have for keeping him out?

It would be good for the FBI to take a moment and interview all 55 employees (very publicly so that other government employees get the message) asking if they were given an orders verbally, in writing or electronically to block DOGE from entering the building.

Considering the size of their budget, this seems like it is hardly worth the effort until the big budget departments have been examined. However, the level of resistance implies that there is more going on that meets the eye. Perhaps this is where some real political kickback corruption is taking place.

FTA——Before it became a target of the Trump administration, the U.S. “African Development Foundation” distributed federal tax dollar grants of up to $250,000 directly to “grass-roots enterprises” and “social entrepreneurs in Africa.”

But on Feb. 19, Pres Trump issued an executive order spnaming the foundation as one of a handful of entities he had decided were “unnecessary” — prompting Mr. Musk’s team to begin trying to cull the bulk of its programs, over the objections of the”African Development Foundation” staff and its board.

Sorry but..WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT??! :)

Only 46 months left?! That’s along time.

AND it’s only 46 months if we cower again like little b..tches like we did during the first coup, the second coup, the chargnig of Trump, the mock trail, the conviction, the GLM and antifa burning of cities, the ripping down of southern statues, the attempt assassination of our future POTUS, the incarceration for YEARS of our fellow Americans on J 6.

So forgive me if I dont CRY that we only have 46 months of the President left.

THIS IS OUR COUNTRY.

We got lucky that Trump is a once in a generation miracle that never gives up

Cause we did...and we hid and we hoped that Trump would save us.

We’ll save ourselves in “46 months” if we have to.

Or we don’t desrve the ####ing country we want.

BTW, Vance and DeSantis and other seem pretty damn tough too.

Buona notte
