On Thursday, a federal judge extended a temporary restraining order (TRO) barring DOGE from accessing Education Department and OMP records.
US District Judge Deborah Boardman, a Biden appointee last month issued a TRO blocking the Department of Education and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) from sharing data with DOGE.
“DOGE affiliates have been granted access to systems of record that contain some of the plaintiffs’ most sensitive data — Social Security numbers, dates of birth, home addresses, income and assets, citizenship status, and disability status — and their access to this trove of personal information is ongoing,” the judge wrote last month according to NBC News. “There is no reason to believe their access to this information will end anytime soon because the government believes their access is appropriate.”
Several unions representing current and former federal employees previously sued the Trump Administration to block DOGE from accessing so-called ‘sensitive data’ at the Department of Education and OPM.
NBC reported that Judge Boardman said DOGE workers being granted ‘unauthorized access’ to the data “could use the information available to them to create a comprehensive picture of the plaintiffs’ familial, professional, or financial affairs.”
On Thursday Judge Boardman extended the TRO until March 17 at 5 pm or until the Court rules on a preliminary injunction motion – whichever is earlier.
The judge said she might extend the TRO again until March 24 at 8 am.

Not sure how this could remotely be legal if the Secretary of the department specifically authorizes access, which she has.

One reason why Trump should just drop the bomb on that day instead of advertising it for weeks on end. They were ready for it and they had the judge lined up. They’re scummy evil coldhearted pieces of shit along with their corrupt judges and that includes Roberts and Amy who are suffering severely from TDS!
Shut the Education Department down and sell the real estate ASAP.

So basically this is banning Trump from those records.
Simple, transfer a few DOGE employees to the Department of Education and let them work away. I doubt the judge is ordered listed any employee names. The administration can move at lightning speed while judges have to be plodding.
More reason to just fire them all.

We now know for sure 5 of the 9 SC Justices hate Trump. So that is what is at the end of the appeal road. It means Trump will either have to give up some of his agenda or go Andy Jackson. For many reasons he is very reluctant to do it. One of these hacks is going block something that will force it and l think it’s coming.

Probably 100+ businesses have my info for 1099’s.

If DOGE transferred workers, the judge would simply issue an order preventing any transfer. The judges can drive the train as long as they wish. They’ll modify current orders or issue new ones if a higher court reverses them.
I know our side has just got started, but we look as impotent as the Democrats right now. Big bold moves shut down two days after they are announced. Until we sort out how to ignore the lower court attacks, we are dead in the water, or at least just marking time.
The fact is, nobody has to tell the judge. Can the judge interfere with employee transfers now? No.
Ignore. The precedent has been set by demonrats.
OK, fine, so DOGE can’t access DoE records - President Trump will simply abolish the whole useless thing.
