You May Miss Wokeness
The Atlantic ^ | 3/4/25 | Jerusalem Demsas

Progressive ideas around race, gender, and immigration are under scrutiny by both the Republican-controlled federal government and Democrats chastened by the loss of the 2024 election. In this modern context, it’s easy to forget how persuasive these ideas once were. In 1995, just 25 percent of Democrats identified as liberal, while 46 called themselves moderate. Twenty years later, a sea change in public opinion had happened: In 2015, 45 percent of Democrats called themselves liberals.

Two political scientists and a researcher found that from 2011 to 2020 the attitudes of Democrats and independents became notably more liberal on racial inequality and immigration. But even looking after the period of anti-“woke” backlash that has characterized much of the past few years, attitudes among all Americans (including Republicans) are noticeably more liberal than they were in 2011, according to their research

The real purpose of woke is both censorship and installing leftists in positions of power. The diversity is the cover ... they know people are too afraid to criticize minorities.

They were, however, not able to report any progress in their quest to distinguish between an ass and a hole in the ground.

Woke is far from dead. It still dominates MSM, pop culture, v games and academe. At best it has experienced a set back.

Woke, to begin, is bad grammar.

It offers itself as a solution, while shortly unmasking a slave culture.

Half of this article is the writer and person being interviewed saying how they both agree that there are aspects of Wokeness that are insane and indefensible. If you peal all that away, they are just saying that Americans want to be tolerant when it comes to racial minorities and women. You can jettison Wokeness and still have that.

The Atlantic tried to scare everyone with the "human sacrifice" angle during COVID in Georgia.

They are dead to me.

Just like Al Sharpton in NYC ... after the Tawana Brawley racist hoax ... that almost ruined the reputation and life of an innocent Steven Pagones.

I don't forget.

Idiots don't even understand what liberalism is:
"Classical liberals were committed to individualism, liberty, and equal rights, as well as some other important tenets of leftism, since classical liberalism was introduced in the late 18th century as a leftist movement. They believed these goals required a free economy with minimal government interference."
The meaning of liberal has evolved through two centuries, as has leftism.

Our Conservative beliefs include individualism, liberty, and equal opportunity rights, along with a free economy with minimal government interference.
