A labor union representing farm workers that for more than a decade begged the Border Patrol to enforce immigration laws is now part of a lawsuit against the Border Patrol for doing just that. The lawsuit, filed by the United Farm Workers (UFW) and five Kern County residents, seeks to stop the Border Patrol from future enforcement actions that stop, arrest, and remove “community members” from the country.
The lawsuit was filed in response to a week-long immigration enforcement operation conducted by Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector of the United States Border Patrol in January. The targeted enforcement action, dubbed “Operation Return to Sender,” was based on intelligence received by the agency regarding the presence of specific individuals who were illegally present in the Kern County area and were suspected of being involved in criminal activity, according to the Border Patrol.

And a tasteless one at that.
If there are illegal immigrants being employed on farms then those farmers need to be arrested and have their farms confiscated using RICO statutes.
What kind of union sabotages their members by supporting illegal invaders?

Lots of former government employees are looking for work
Those controlled by the cartels. They were told to do this.
As long as they get their payoff in the form of "membership dues" they are ecstatic about it.
Unions are a "big business" that produces exactly nothing.
Which is why I have never had much use for them and the past few decades have only deepened my contempt.
Does anybody remember when Cesar Chavez was AGAINST illegal immigration because it was used against his union?
Arrest them for breaking federal law!
This union sure doesn’t represent its workers very well.
As a rancher and a farmer who only uses legal labor, I will tell you the reason farm work doesn’t pay as well as it should is the prices are depressed by migrant illegals.
These same illegals put massive pressure on schools to babysit their kids (who come in tow for part of a year, don’t want to learn, and can’t because they don’t speak English, plus they aren’t there long enough to learn) for a portion of the school year.
“Does anybody remember when Cesar Chavez was AGAINST illegal immigration because it was used against his union?”
I certainly do.
I’m a firm believer in fair wages for workers, as an employer.
These “unions” are no more “pro-worker” than the Moon is made of green cheese.
Chief Bovino is a Savage. Kern County is over 300 miles north of his Sector in El Centro, Ca. Since Trump took over, border crossings have plummeted to nearly zero. El Centro Border Patrol Agents no longer have to wait for illegals to come to them, Greg sends them to wherever the illegal Aliens are. This is a monumental change. This kind of aggressive enforcement of border security hasn’t existed in over 20 years. It’s no doubt a huge morale booster for his Agents.

Take a guess what party is paying for that.
Cesar Chavez would be their enemy today.
It’s so friggin’ dishonest. There’s a specific visa for migrant workers who come in from central America every year and work the farms on the west coast. They start by picking down south where things ripen first, and work their way north where they pick apples in Oregon and Washington before going home.
I assume this idiot KNOWS about this, and KNOWS that he’s lying.
Back in the days of Cesar Chavez, the UFW were dead set against illegal immigration, and even turned in employers. At that time they were mostly legal immigrants from Mexico plus a variety of other types.
Illegal immigration was held to be bad for the working class.
The UFW are just Democrat apparatchiks now.
Unions are becoming null & void.
Are they accepting dues from illegals or USAID?
