High-profile MAGA personalities applauded Friday as President Trump escalated his hostility toward Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky. Mr. Trump wrote on social media that Mr. Zelensky “disrespected the United States in the cherished Oval Office” and “can come back when he is ready for Peace.” That followed a hostile meeting in which Mr. Trump and JD Vance berated and bullied Mr. Zelensky, with the vice president demanding: “Have you said thank you once?” In the days leading up to the meeting, Mr. Trump described Mr. Zelensky as a “dictator” and suggested that Ukraine started the war with Russia.
Along with the serious implications of all this for America’s security and alliances, it is likely to cause domestic trouble for the president. The White House’s views on Ukraine are out of step not only with the country as a whole but with Republican voters.
Earlier this month, my organization, Razom, commissioned the Republican firm 1892 Polling to conduct a survey of 2024 GOP primary voters on their attitudes toward Ukraine. Majorities said they agreed Russia is the aggressor (69%), would support continued weapons assistance under certain circumstances (60%), and say they’re more likely to support aid for Ukraine when told Russia has kidnapped more than 19,000 Ukrainian children (71%).
Contrary to stereotype, Republican voters have nuanced views about America’s place in the world and Russia’s war. Their opinions on Ukraine are considered, internally coherent and broadly well-informed. Taken in aggregate, this constituency is unlikely to reward American politicians who empower Vladimir Putin.

Russia started the war by invading Ukraine, and it would be bad to let it win. Putin would then try to subjugate the Baltic republics that are part of NATO and which we are pledged to defend. It makes sense to support Ukraine with military aid so that a peace deal is not reached entirely on Putin's terms. Zelensky has a point when he says an immediate cease-fire with no security guarantees and the lifting of sanctions just gives Russia time to plan its next invasion of Ukraine.
Bull...
50/50 shot. Take it.
Sorry. I do not agree. The area was Russia’s first and the inhabitants were Russian speakers. Both sides have claims. Neither side has behaved honorably. It is an internal matter and outsiders should not be taking sides. The only honorable action from outside is to mediate for peace.
The deep state has participated & incited many overthrows & coups and the actions in this case are examples. America has blood on it’s hands because of Biden & Neocon greed and desire for power.
WSJ propaganda.
what was the cause of the hostility, wsj?
hmmm
z was renegotiating a settled deal on national tv
z wants security guarantees(boots on the ground)
he got a hard no from Trump and Vance
Thank God
2) Saying that Ukraine is not going to win this war does not mean one is in love with Putin, it's merely stating the obvious.
3) Most of us agree that Putin is wrong, and he is a thug. Does not change the reality on the ground.
4) The coming US supremacy in the petroleum industry will ensure Russia will not have the money to continue aggressive military activities.
5) The American taxpayers are tapped out. Same goes for our grandchildren - it's time for Europe to man-up and ensure their own security.
Ukraine 🖕🖕🏼🖕🏾🖕🏿🖕🏻🖕🖕🏿🖕🏾🖕🏽🖕🏼
Personally I’m in the camp where I supported our supporting Ukraine. Slowly but surely I’ve been getting closer to Trump’s view. After Friday’s display of his total rejection of a ceasefire and talks, I can no longer support him. For some reason he wants bloodshed war to continue without counting the cost of human lives. 50 years from now this will all seem like it was in vain for either country.
“Bull...”
Yep... Psyop propaganda piece meant to divide...
FAKE NEWS The propaganda is starting!! Beware!!!
Was Liz Cheney the author’s unnamed source?
A poll commissioned by “Razom for Ukraine”.
‘Nough said.
This is because Russia has been our enemy for 2 generations!
It's hard to switch when you've always been at war with EastAsia.
When this war started, I did not pick a side. They are/were both corrupt to the core, and not worthy of my support.
And now? Does your neutrality persist?
Exactly. WSJ bought by WEF businesses.
