Federal employees are starting to receive another email requiring them to explain their recent accomplishments, a renewed attempt by President Donald Trump and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk to demand answers from the government workforce.
Originally expected to go out Saturday, the new request began landing in the inboxes of some employees late Friday. The plan to send a second round of emails was initially disclosed by a person with knowledge of the situation who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it publicly.
The first email, which was distributed a week ago, asked employees “what did you do last week?” and prompted them to list five tasks that they completed. Musk, whose Department of Government Efficiency has been empowered by Trump with a mission to downsize agencies and eliminate thousands of federal jobs, said anyone who didn't respond would be fired. Many agencies, meanwhile, told their workforces not to respond or issued conflicting guidance.
The second email was expected to be delivered in a different way, according to the person with knowledge of the situation, potentially making it easier to discipline employees for noncompliance.
Instead of being sent by the Office of Personnel Management, which functions as a human resources agency for the federal government but doesn't have the power to hire or fire, the email was to come from individual agencies that have direct oversight of career officials.
But a version of the email received late Friday by some employees at two separate agencies — with the subject line, “What did you do last week? Part II" — came from “hr@opm.gov,” the same OPM address that sent the first version.

Love that they are trolling them before they fire them.
Wow! Federal employees have a weekend and another 24 hours to tell their boss five whole things they did the previous week to keep their sinecures!
Crack that whip! *Whooouh-tish!* LOL! 😁
GET OVER YOURSELVES!!!
Reporting weekly accomplishments to your boss is normal, every week, forever.
Deal with it, pansy wanker children.
They always misspell "Feral"
Making their list gives them something to do from start of work until lunchtime on Mondays.
So, there’s one thing.
1. Made my list of accomplishments from last week.
*SMIRK*
(I’ve worked for both the Feds and the State. I know how the game is played and WHO actually gets things done in either place.)
This exercise will help prepare them for their new jobs in the private sector.
:-)
That’s harsh! Especially for those still suffering the traumatic effects of last week’s email.
If they only attended five meetings last week, they have their list of five things! 🙂
It’s Trump’s, ‘Tet Offensive.’ Hit ‘em with everything you’ve got! ;)
With no tax on tips coming, they can find a job that requires zero what I did lists and a ton on the to do list.

Why is that person blabbing?
President Trump and team need to plug the leaks!!!
Is anyone actually reading all these emails and if so, who?
Is anyone tracking received emails against a list of employees to see who did and didn’t reply, and if so, how?
They should make it easy for these illiterates. Just have them show up a the office with some kind of I.D. card with a picture and address on it. Check them off to continue getting a paycheck. Not shows are removed from the paylist. They don’t exist.
The actual vs. stated reasons for requiring an email reply are myriad, leave it at that.
They are using very sophisticated AI tools for DOGE. That’s how they discovered the byzantine funding arrangements & money laundering in the first place. No human could catch all this stuff.
They will ignore this one also. Fire them or stop with the empty threat emails.
That is exactly what AI does best.
Humans are way too slow.
Before I retired, from the truck factory I worked, Our depart was at the end of the line to fix any damage done by the rest of the factory, when we completed our work on a truck we had to log what we had done to it into the computer system, before moving on to the next truck. Depending on what needed to be done that could be over 20 trucks a day.
So, one 5 point report for a whole week is nothing to me.
This deal reminds me of George Jetson coming home and complaining how hard his day had been because he had to push 3 buttons that day.
If responses are actually desired start going into offices and changing locks. Leave a note about where they can find their boxes. Just do this on one office on each floor and the chaos will be stunning.
Make sure and have CCTV running. Videos will be glorious.
