MLB lost all credibility when they embraced sports gambling. Now I don’t care either way.

I ceased watching major leagues when then went on strike.

After most major sports have embraced the wacky woke, my wife and I enjoy the local little league.

Nope. Pete Rose was a great player. No doubt about that.

But he made bets involving his own team when he was a manager. And he lied about it. Did Rose change lineups just to give himself a better chance of winning a bet?

If baseball is to have any standards at all, just no. Rose does not belong in the Hall of Fame. He disgraced himself and he disgraced the game.

Really — who cares.

Pete Rose should be banished from memory for that awful haircut. :-P

Problem with baseball is that its core fan base was once males who actually played the game in their youth, understood and appreciated its nuances. Now over the past fifty years baseball diamonds are vastly underused. Far fewer boys and middle aged men have ever played baseball. If you don’t have that inherent love and understanding of the game, it could be very boring.

So tired of the Dodgers. And they’re in my town. 🙄 Haven’t been to game in ages but from tv the vibe feels more woke than the other sports.

They never had the classic ‘Americana’ vibe the way the Yankees and some northeastern teams do though.

Pete should be in the ‘all-time liars’ hall of fame, that’s for sure.

Agree Pete Rose belongs in the HOF.

The rules changes, pitch clock, "speeding up the game" because the Gen Z'ers and Millenials have the attention spans of tse'tse flies have ruined the game.

Rose did bet with the bookies. He never bet against his team. He was a fantastic player and coach. He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame despite what he did. If he had ever bet against his team he deserves infamy. He did not. The best judge of his character are his teammates and his players when a coach. Ask them.

I’ve stopped watching all sports EXCEPT baseball - it was the only sport I was halfway good at in my younger days. I am still a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, even though they are the most aggravatingly mediocre organization in the game. The eternally shifting cat-and-mouse game between the pitchers and hitters just fascinates me. And yes, there should be a place in the HOF for Rose, along with Shoeless Joe, Barry Bonds and the other cheaters and gamblers who were great players - just in a side wing away from the ones that didn’t cheat or gamble.

Rose betting on his team was just ahead of its time. Like now.

Trump should point that out.

Members of “The Baseball Hall of Fame” are voted on
by the “Baseball Writers’ Association of America” (BBWAA).
They are not selected by Major League Baseball.
