It sounds like your dad is blue pilled. However, average viewership for the nightly TV news on any given night declined from 25% of the adult American population in 1985 to 7% in 2025. The raw numbers have declined from 50 million to 16 million despite a population increase over 30 years. The demographics for TV news indicate many of the main viewers are over 55. The ghost of Walter Cronkite is being exorcised from the body politic.

His livelihood is based on leftist grants (from Small Business Administration I believe). He based a business on them—started early in the Obama years. He loves Obama—invited to the White House to shake hands with his idol.

He is old enough and can afford to retire—and he will soon whether he wants to or not—because President Trump is going to shut down his grant if it has not been stopped already.

Everybody in the family is avoiding him—because we all know he is going to freak out—if he has not already.
