Those “Republicans” who maintain that Trump is the anti-thesis of Reaganism should now realize that what Trump is doing is the heart of domestic Reaganism, cutting the federal government’s size and reach.

The chaos, confusion and emotional suffering in federal offices is already off the charts.

Normal people live in a world where you show up for work, do useful things, report on what useful things you did last week, and always face the risk that layoffs by your company might become necessary.

Federal employees don’t live in that world. Until now. And they find it unfair and frightening.

When government workers are 90% Democrats and those hired in the last 4 years are 98% rabid Leftists tea best way to cut government spending and waste is to get rid of them.rather than cut programs for the rest of the country.

Democrats have turned government jobs into a huge welfare program for Democrat political activists

what no one is talking about that is far more important than saving the money for their salaries is the savings from not having to pay their pensions for life!

This is the “bitter pill” pundits have been talking about for years.

It is now being prescribed and administered.

Personally, it is way past time and hopefully it is successful. Thr cancer is in advanced stages and i have some doubts.

Going to be a finacial disruption across the board which is long overdue.

Hopefully it isnt real serious.

They knew that firing the unvaccinated would disproportionately impact the conscientious, people with consciences, i.e. conservatives and Christians.

We know that firing government workers will disproportionately impact Dems. Now the Dem middle managers will make sure to use this opportunity to rid themselves of any they know to be conscientious, but most of the fired will be Dems. Unfortunately, the majority of Dems will remain in place, in power.

Much like how chemo works on Stage 4 cancer. The cancer will shrink, symptoms will improve for a bit, and then it will go right back to growing. Which isn’t to say don’t use chemo, if it buys you quality time.

Moreover, many of them will have no choice but to move to the private sector and actually transition from being net consumers to producers.

My experience has been that when you are offered a mass voluntary severance package, it is wise to consider it because deep reductions in force are on the horizon for those who choose not to take it. .

The better the package, the deeper the reduction in force is going to be.

Trump offered a pretty sweet deal.

I still don’t understand that if you pull funding from scams ($ not needed), reduce parasitic workforce ($ not needed), reduce the sugardaddy effect for overseas ($ not needed), etc, why does Trump still demand the same money at a substantial deficit?
Trust the plan, 4D Chess, etc?
Most will call me stupid names but maybe an adult can explain this?

Yup, Obama and Biden did everything possible to purge as many Republican or conservative workers from the government payrolls.

This will now backfire because there are so few government workers who are not Leftist Democrats that you can have mass firings witoutimpacting any conservative Republicans

Most remaining conservative Republicans in government are eligible for retirement anyway. .

Unfortunately, if you fired every federal employee, you’d only reduce 4.8% of the budget. We’ve got bigger problems than pesky government employees, some of which provide valuable services. But it sure makes for good headlines.

Just keep in mind that if Trump fires half a million government workers, the government workforce would be the size it was in 2008. We probably need cuts of a million workers. And that means substantial cuts in programs. If he does that, it will be wonderful.

I’m both happy and saddened by this.

It’s good that we should get a slimming. Great.

But I’ll keep saying this: We need at least one agency outright abolished. Not merged, not re-assigned, not absorbed.

The people in the agency, such as the Department of Education, are no longer employed and the agency itself is wiped out entirely. It’s a complete, full-stop, destruction.

If all we get are reductions during 4 years of the Trump Presidency, when we reach the end, that will be a travesty. It will not be a triumph. The Republicans and the Democrats will just puff these agencies back up to what they were.

A 4 year reprieve is nice, but let’s be sober about it being only a 4 year reprieve and nothing more.

All I’m talking about is one single agency. One. One must be abolished. We need that precedent.
