The Kremlin on Tuesday refuted President Trump’s claim that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is ready for European peacekeepers to be installed in Ukraine.
“There is a position on this matter that was expressed by Russian Foreign Minister [Sergey] Lavrov,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a press conference. “Russia media site TASS reported. I have nothing to add to this and nothing to comment on.”
Peskov was referring to Lavrov’s recent remarks asserting that Russia would find it unacceptable if NATO-aligned troops were put in Ukraine after a peace deal is negotiated.

It’s like letting Hezbollah peace keepers in Gaza.
this war is wrapping up and the exotic dancer should be planning his departure to an undisclosed location
Both sides want to end this.
Both sides want the best possible deal.
Both sides don’t want to appear desperate and in fact, we’re not.
If there is one leverage we have, it’s that the Russians are bleeding and paying a lot for this, far more than we are.
Even though Russia does have the initiative and technically won politically and militarily, we are not the ones that are under the same sort of pressure the Russians are.
Trump knows this. We’ll hammer out a great deal. But no matter what deal we make, the MSM will sell it to the public as us selling out to the Russians. Western MSM = Orange man bad. That simple.
I don't agree with that at all. European countries don't want peace or does Zelensky.
💯
Doesn’t pass the smell test. The main cause of this war was Ukraine wanting to join NATO, now we are wanting to have NATO troops there for peace-keepers???
Who is “we”?
Glad the Kremlin denied that. I was surprised when Trump made that statement yesterday.
If that were true Russia could have a no NATO Ukraine at anytime in exchange for leaving Ukraine. But it is not true. Putin wants more. The aim was always to bring Ukraine back under Moscow's control, not merely to keep NATO out.
Peacekeeping troops make no sense.
A contingent of peacekeeping troops are one phone call to the commander away from being offensive thrust troops.
The ultimate Trojan horse.
And quite frankly none of our business.
The media trying to negotiate terms through their journalists is hilarious.
>>I don’t agree with that at all. European countries don’t want peace or does Zelensky.
I don’t know if that’s true or not, but either way, it’s not all that relevant. When making a deal, Trump understands that you have to MAKE them want it. That’s Trump’s vital role in all this. If Zelensky’s options were, end the war or continue to get billions in aid to continue fighting, he would probably choose to continue fighting. That, in fact, was the choice that Biden and Europe had given him from day one. Trump, on the other hand, knows how to apply pressure and how to make the alternative to signing a peace deal more painful. In the end all parties will want peace because it will be better than the alternative.
Then just plainly say that you do not care if Russia subjugates Ukraine rather than hiding behind the false justification of NATO expansion.
I was merely pointing out the oddity of having NATO there when it has been a major sticking point, albeit maybe a false flag. I have always had the stance we have no monkeys in that circus.
BTW you guys can quit fighting about Ukraine.
It is all going to be decided in the Budget fight upcoming.
I thought this was BS when first posted.
I was “flabbergasted”.
And now proven to be BS.
I believe President Trump. Not the Kremlin spokesmongol.
The US (and we are the ones that matter) and the Russians want this to end.
The Euros made themselves nearly irrelevant, and the Ukraine is our satellite nation which does as we direct.
If Ukraine doesn’t play along, it’ll be hard for them to fight without the weapons, training, intel, logistics, mercenaries (we allow free movement), political top cover, cash, we provide.
If we really cut them off, they’ll implode, fast. In fact, if we really and entirely cut them off (won’t get to that point), Mr. Z wouldn’t live to long.
