The most famous structure and institution that bears its name, the Kennedy Center, is now being run on an interim basis by Richard Grenell, one of the Trump’s closest allies.
And when it gets reformed, who’ll be one of the first acts playing there? According to Steve Bannon’s speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday, it’ll be the J6 Prison Choir.
The group, which is comprised of men who spent time behind bars for their roles in the Jan. 6. 2021 Capitol incursion, has been invited to the Kennedy Center by Grenell, according to Bannon.

Do you thumbs up CPAC for kicking out the Jan 6ers?
And Helen Keller said, “I heard that.”
> It’s also a museum for JFK… <
That’s another thing that bothers me. Transformational presidents like Washington and Lincoln deserve their own monuments.
But JFK was not in that same league. His museum should receive no government funding. Just like with the proposed Obama Library. Fund it through donations or whatever.
Sorry for the old man rant. It just bothers me that we tend to treat our presidents as honored pharaohs. A republic shouldn’t be doing that.
:-)
I got that idea too.
Lol...classic.

No, why would I? Are you trying to start some kind of controversy?
I was in DC on that Jan 6th, but I stayed off the Capitol grounds as I had been warned that the day was a trap. My cohort was likely in the building (he was) so I stayed off the property in the event that I would be called upon to post bond.

If you watched CPAC, you would know that the Jan 6ers were back inside the venue the next day and were welcome to participate as they saw fit. They have a vendor booth and I believe that they gave a presentation in one of the ballrooms.
I’m not there so I don’t have any insider’s knowledge as to why there was an issue on the day of registration.
Steve Bannon had several Jan 6ers on his program and gave them airtime to announce their future plans, which included their attorney present on stage who is launching a massive lawsuit against the DOJ and the Bureau of Prisons.
Incidentally, the Jan 6ers attorney is a McCloskey, which may ring a bell. He and his wife defended themselves and their property against a marauding BLM group, with firearms, and was subsequently arrested.
If anybody at FR wants to dog out Steve Bannon, by all means, please do so. I have my opinion on him, and I would share a foxhole with Stephen K Bannon, any time any where.
Some of the keyboard warriors here at FR, meh, not so much?
Don’t talk about it, do it!
It was played as part of the opening of a Trump rally I attended in March 2023. Very moving.
Wondering just what might cause apoplexy, I conjured in my mind visions of “Blazing Saddles” being re-enacted on stage.
HILARIOUS!
Bannon DESPISES ELON, so Bannon is in severe BUTT HURT!
Maybe it depends on the definition of "structure and institution", but I think a LOT more people have heard of the Kennedy Space Center than the Kennedy Center for performing arts.
He’s got Jan 6ers on his program right now, giving them a platform to express their grievances and garner public support. The Jan 6er speaking at the moment was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
The truth doesn’t need to defend itself.
A LARP? LOL! Stop! You’re killing me!
Steve Bannon is a treasure - you just don’t know what you’re talking about.

Ditto
Nice parrot act you have working there. I have a neighbor who was worked over by the FBI and they never went near the capital that day. Why were Jan 6 people kicked out in the first place. They were let back in because of the blow back and protests from people who arent drinking the CPAC Koolaid. CPAC did more damage to themselves than they can imagine.
Not true
You are repeating bad information.
I understand why you want this thing to go away.
