Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) slammed Russian President Vladimir Putin as a “cancer” not long after President Trump stepped up his criticism of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
“Look, I’m a Republican, I support President Trump, and I believe that most of his policies on national security are right. I believe his instincts are pretty good,” Tillis said Thursday on the Senate floor while warning of global turmoil.
“But what I’m telling you: Whoever believes that there is any space for Vladimir Putin in the future of a stable globe better go to Ukraine. They better go to Europe; they better invest the time to understand that this man is a cancer and the greatest threat to democracy in my lifetime,” he added.

By any measure, Putin is a hero in Russia.

He came to power, suppressed government corruption, made government responsible, suppressed the politicized oligarchs robbing the country blind, slowed national suicide by alcohol and abortion, promoted national unity and the Orthodox Church as a unifying civil society organization, stabilized the economy, and dealt with chaos on Russia’s borders. He’s also dealt with non-stop attempts from foreign powers to propagandize Russia. Now he’s nearly won the biggest war Russia’s been involved with in the last 75 years.
When he’s dead, they’ll bury Lenin and put Putin’s corpse on display instead.
Many here believe it’s not in the USA’s interests to have a strong Russia. The Eurocrats in Brussels certainly believe this.
Whine all you want, zeepers. Putin is no saint, but its time to face REALITY about Russia.
