NEW YORK, February 19. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump has pointed out that Kiev must hold a presidential election if it wants to sit down at the negotiating table to settle the Ukraine conflict and highlighted Vladimir Zelensky’s lack of popularity.
"We have a situation where we haven't had elections in Ukraine, where we have martial law, essentially martial law in Ukraine, where the leader in Ukraine, I mean, I hate to say it, but he's down at 4% approval rating. And where a country has been blown to smithereens, you got most of the cities are laying on their sides. The buildings are collapsed. It looks like a massive demolition site," the US leader told reporters after signing a number of his new executive orders in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.
"I would say that, you know, when they want a seat at the table, you could say the people have to, wouldn't the people of Ukraine have to say, like, you know, it's been a long time since we've had an election. That's not a Russia thing. That's something coming from me and coming from many other countries also," the US president emphasized.

I doubt Zelensky lasts long enough in to hold elections, or to even be around when there are finally elections.
Churchill won the war before the limeys threw him out on his ear. Then he made a comeback. Are the Ukes really ready for an honest election + government?

I fear that putting this kind of pre-condition out there is going to stymie any chance for an agreement. Both sides have to agree for there to be a ceasefire.
Was not sure he would be popular, but certainly expected his approval would be higher than that. Is it really that low?
Scenario 1: Trump is engaging in hyperbole, which it does now and then, meaning approval is above 4%.
Scenario 2: It has always been 4% and our intel agencies never forwarded the information. This 4% may have come from clean Tulsi Gabbard intel.
Scenario 3: It doesn’t matter because with refugees in so many different countries, no one is going to believe any count

Unless we make sure Mr. Z wins, he’s done in an election. That’s why we favored canceling elections in the Biden era. We want to keep our boy in power.

—For patriotism sake, because we need to “support” Ukraine, we need to get behind a war which has destroyed Ukraine in every respect: economically, militarily, politically, demographically.

I still don’t see what the end game is? Unless it is Russia keeping everything it captured and Trump exacting retribution for what the deep state took from the American taxpayers and Z Man laundered it.
