Speaker Johnson: ‘Elon Has Cracked the Code’ to Expose the ‘Belly of the Beast’

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is heaping praise on President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and its head, Elon Musk.

Johnson is crediting Musk and DOGE for exposing decades of hidden government spending that funneled taxpayer dollars to liberal allies and expanded federal bureaucracy.

Speaking on Fox News’s “Life, Liberty & Levin” on Saturday night, Johnson told host Mark Levin that for years, congressional oversight efforts were obstructed by bureaucrats refusing to turn over critical data.

“The challenge we’ve had here in recent decades is that members of Congress, these representatives, have not been able to do that job,” Johnson told Levin.

“The oversight job has been hindered because the deep state in the bureaucracy has not turned over the data.”

Johnson explained that lawmakers had been in the dark about certain spending patterns because information was deliberately concealed.

However, with Trump’s push to “drain the swamp” and Musk’s leadership at DOGE, those financial records are now coming to light.

Among the revelations are questionable expenditures such as the Environmental Protection Agency’s $458,919 “subscription” bill from leftist “news” outlet Politico, along with millions of taxpayer dollars funneled to liberal-leaning organizations.

Johnson praised Musk’s ability to uncover these spending practices.

“Elon has cracked the code,” Johnson said.

“He is on the inside of the belly of the beast, Mark, and he is unveiling and revealing all these things that we knew intuitively were happening but we didn’t have the evidence.”

Calling it a “game changer” and “truly revolutionary,” Johnson emphasized that Musk’s work is providing lawmakers with the necessary proof to dismantle excessive bureaucracy.

Johnson revealed that he met with Musk on Monday to encourage his efforts and to discuss how the information Musk’s team is uncovering can aid congressional budget reform efforts.

He recounted telling Musk, “You think of this as a scientist and a data analyst.

“I think of it as a constitutional law attorney and historian.”

Johnson explained that the goal is to return the federal government to its original design, one that prioritizes limited government and strict oversight by elected representatives.

“What we are going to be able to do through this effort is restore the original intent of the framers of the Constitution,” he said.

According to Johnson, the effort to cut back government overreach has alarmed Democrats and big-government proponents.

He stated, “We’re going to restore, ultimately, through this process, the federal government to the original intent of the Founders.

“And that’s what has the big government, socialist liberals, and Democrat Party apoplectic because they’re afraid of what the final result of this is going to be.”

Following his Fox appearance, Johnson added in a post on X:

“What @ElonMusk is doing is truly revolutionary.

“As the DOGE algorithms find widespread fraud, waste, and abuse in the executive branch agencies that have been hidden from Congress for decades—it will allow us to restore the original intent of our Constitution: a leaner, more efficient, and more accountable federal government that is kept in check by the legislative branch.”

As the DOGE team continues to pull back the curtain on wasteful government spending and fraud, Republican lawmakers are preparing to use the data to push for budget cuts and structural reforms.

Whether these efforts will translate into lasting changes remains to be seen.

However, the revelations are already fueling new scrutiny over how taxpayer dollars have been spent.

It looks like the code is mostly pointing at it. Simple, but evidently not easy.

One thing is for sure, they didn’t expect such rapid results. I’m sure they thought it’d take years to untangle.

So Johnson admits that all Congress is good for is writing sternly worded but ultimately toothless letters.

Then why did they set a July 4th deadline?

So does this mean we can look forward to having an actual real budget this year, mister speaker?

The deep state didn’t expect it to be sorted that fast. Otherwise they would have filed suits right away.

I would love to know what technology/software Musk is using to access Fed.gov systems.

It has to be able to operate in multiple languages and systems, given the age and diversity of Fed.gov programs. It has to work extremely fast for Musk to move among agencies so quickly, and it has to be efficient and precise to allow a small team of 20-something big-data analysts to make conclusions so quickly.

Some have speculated that Trump’s 2024 alliance with certain tech-entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley was about getting these tools and this team together.

My own hunch is that Trump/Musk are working with Palantir and its founders Peter Thiel and Alex Carp on specialized big-data software to do exactly what we are seeing.

Sorry Mike Johnson but your excuse is worthless. Congress controls the purse strings of these bureaucrats.

NO CRITICAL DATA = NO MONEY FROM CONGRESS

USAID is the Rosetta Stone of US feral government corruption.

I believe USAID was what President Trump was talking about when, in 2019, he said "I caught The Swamp. I caught them all.

He knew the 2020 election was going to be stolen, and he was already laying the groundwork for the complete and utter annihilation of The Swamp.

Trump plays 16D chess.

The Uniparty New this was happening and yet tries to claim now that for years they could do nothing about it. Send them all back home to their districts. Cut all the pay raises they’ve given themselves the last 30 years. Make it illegal for them to invest in the stock market as long as they are in office. You won’t have to set term limits then.

He’s a swamp rat just like the rest of them

As DOGE exposes the non-sense payments by various government agencies and departments, I am wondering what the CONGRESSIONAL OVERSIGHT COMMITTEES have been doing during the past decades to make sure the agencies and departments follow the statutes passed by Congress.

Maybe the problem is that Congress takes 19 weeks of vacation each year. Click the link—

This is our House calendar for 2025. Yellow is our in session weeks. Thought it would be good to share for anyone planning trips to visit your Representative.

While Trump and Musk have been working 24/7 since Jan 20, why isn’t the House doing the same?

Here comes the story....They're all just high powered highly educated lawyers that never knew where all the trillions were going! They're all dumbfounded and bamboozled by all this. Shucks, how did all this happen??
