Babies Will be Killed in Missouri Again as Judge Allows Abortion Centers to Reopen

In a horrible ruling late Friday night, a Missouri judge has ruled that abortion centers can reopen in Missouri and resume killing babies in abortions.

A Jackson County judge struck down licensing requirements for clinics that have stood in the way of abortion businesses reopening after the state barely approved Amendment 3, the ballot measure allowing abortions and reversing the state’s law protecting babies.

Judge Jerri Zhang struck down modest abortion limits that protect women’s health, including pre-abortion exams, waiting periods, hospital admitting privileges for abortionist so women can receive emergency medical care after a botched abortion.

In a statement to LifeNews, Missouri Right to Life condemned the decision, saying babies will be killed and women’s lives will be put at risk.

“Friday evening while families were enjoying Valentine Day celebrations, Jackson County Circuit Judge Jerri Zhang issued a new ruling to remove the licensing requirement for abortion clinics. This ruling puts women’s lives at risk and opens the door for unregulated abortions in Missouri,” said Susan Klein, Executive Director, Missouri Right to Life.

“Women are in imminent danger and pre-born babies will begin to die again in Missouri because of this ruling,” she added. “Missouri abortion clinics have a past record of proven healthcare infractions like rusty equipment, expired medications and referring minors to get abortions without parents knowledge or approval.”

“This is a sad day for Missouri. Pro-life Missourians and pro-life legislators will fight for protections needed to save pre-born babies and to protect women from the abortion industry,” Klein concluded.

Margot Riphagen, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Great Rivers, said the abortion business will start killing babies soon.

In November 2024, Missouri voters approved Amendment 3, legalizing abortion up to birth. This measure overturned the state’s near-total abortion ban, which had been in place since 2022. The amendment was passed with 51.6% of the vote, reflecting a narrow margin of support among the electorate that only came after millions in false ads lying to voters and deceiving them.

Republican lawmakers in Missouri are actively seeking to challenge and potentially overturn the provisions established by Amendment 3. They have filed numerous bills aimed at weakening or reversing the amendment’s effects. Some proposed measures include granting unborn children equal rights, which would effectively overturn Amendment 3.

A county judge sets aside a state law. SMDH.

Time to reign in these lower courts.

Judges should be required to cite constitutional grounds (USA or State) to have their “rulings” have standing.

In November 2024, Missouri voters approved Amendment 3, legalizing abortion up to birth

That was a well funded out of state group of people who pushed this amendment and it was worded as women's help, nearly as a pregnancy help center type of thing. They did the same a few years ago for legalizing cannabis. Millions from out of state organizations. There's a fight in MO gov right now to reform this amendment funding and marketing issue but we have a RINO speaker.

All of the voters who chose this judge have blood on their hands.

Nothing like murdering a child in the womb to top off a nice day. (/sarcasm). Notice how Democrats are outraged when a child is murdered in a classroom but they promote murder of children in the womb? Hard to figure.

I find it bothersome that 50% + 1 is enough to amend the MO constitution. I think it should be a tad more difficult, like say 2/3rds or 3/4ths to pull a couple of numbers out of thin air.

However, nothing says that taxpayers, MO or US should be forced to fund these abortions. And no one can or should be forced to provide facilities for them. Public shunning and shaming is in order.

The MO constitution is growing by leaps and bounds. If we do get reforms, hopefully that 2/3 - 3/4 will be part of it.

Yes, they promote murder of children in the womb, especially those black ones they so despise.

Abortion clinics can’t pass inspections that real health clinics have to pass in order to operate.
