Gov. Kathy Hochul doesn’t rule out removing Eric Adams from office following allegations NYC mayor was involved in ‘quid pro quo’ with DOJ(FAFO)

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Thursday night didn’t rule out removing Mayor Eric Adams from office after allegations emerged that the feds would drop their criminal case against Hizzoner in exchange for his help with President Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

Hochul, the only official in the state who has the power to boot Adams from his position, revealed on MSNBC that she’s consulting with officials about the mayor’s future.

The governor told host Rachel Maddow that she read a letter penned by now-former acting Manhattan US Attorney Danielle Sassoon that claimed Adams’ legal team offered a “quid pro quo” in hopes of seeing his federal charges get dismissed.

“The allegations are extremely concerning and serious, but I cannot as the governor of this state have a knee-jerk, politically motivated reaction like a lot of other people are saying right now,” Hochul said.

I don’t know the details, but what is illegal under federal law is often illegal under state law.

You wanna’ talk quid pro quo Governor? How about you and your predecessor Andrew Cuomo, awarding development projects around the State to your biggest donors, as payback for their financial support during your political careers? How about those same projects in which you forced the taxpayers of the State to foot the bill for the initial construction of those buildings, suddenly ending, because the developers decided to walk away, and were never held accountable for what they walked away with?

Defendants get charges dropped all the time for offering a quid pro quo. It’s called a deal and doesn’t always have to be accompanied by a plea.

Spending $300 per day per non-voting moocher is stupid even by Democratic standards.

The invaders are vacuuming up NYC revenue big time.

If Adams is fired the administration can make him the Czar in charge of investigating the governor’s violation of the immigration and other laws.

Give him a team of hot shot lawyers.

Lets get ready to rumble.

“Defendants get charges dropped all the time for offering a quid pro quo. It’s called a deal and doesn’t always have to be accompanied by a plea.”

Adams’ plea probably involves agreeing to comply with Federal law regarding illegal aliens. So unlike other deals, this one almost requires Hochul to exercise her power to remove Adams from office. She can’t have NY Mayors just willy-nilly complying with federal law!

If the crazy Democrats keep treating anyone who shows a sign of independent thought or patriotism like trash, a whole lot of them are going to get red-pilled and become Republicans. See Musk, Gabbard, RFK, Jr, and of course...Trump himself.

Can she remove a mayor democratically elected by the people? Red state governors could have a field day.

I was wondering the same thing.
If a Governor can remove an elected mayor, why F around with elections?
