Today, the war in Ukraine ended, at least in a sense.
Bloody fighting between depleted militaries will continue to barely move the frozen front lines. Russian missile and drone raids will still pummel Ukrainian cities and terrorize their citizens. Gutsy, covert Ukrainian strikes will hit deep behind the Russian border.
But a new, and likely final, chapter in the nearly three-year conflict began today with a confluence of clear signals from the United States that it will no longer back Kyiv’s goals in the war, all but assuring that Ukraine will not regain its sovereign territory or achieve its most sought-after security guarantees.
Ukrainians have warily watched Donald Trump reclaim power, knowing his longtime deference toward Russian President Vladimir Putin and having heard his promise to end the conflict “in 24 hours,” which always seemed like a way to codify Russian war gains. Although Trump failed in fulfilling that pledge, he has made no secret of wanting to bring about a quick end to the fighting.
And when he interjected himself into the conflict today, he did so in telling fashion: by calling Putin, a move that White House framed as the beginning of a negotiation to end the war in Ukraine.

Ukraine has been unplugged.
Free at last,
Thank God Almighty, free at last!
“There are voices which say that Europe could offer security guarantees without the Americans, and I always say no,” Zelensky said just days ago. “Security guarantees without America are not real security guarantees.”
He knows Europe well enough.
You’d never know we’d ‘gifted’ Ukraine for almost 200 Billion dollars that we know of, and that Ukraine has been losing for some time now. So there’s no point in the US keeping the Ukrainian afloat with government salaries, pensions, emergency services and weapons, humanitarian aid etc. etc. When the NGO’s are investigated, we’ll know more about the true amount Americans poured into NATO’s proxy war against Putin.
Still, Zelensky wants the US to get involved so the globalists can get WWIII going.
They have upgraded him from being a stooge to merely deferential.
I hope Ukraine loses more territory before the war ends.
America’s Left and the Democrats are now the intel and deep-state war party.
It’s where the Neoconservatives came from, and it’s where they’ll return.
Way too early to claim anything about ending this stupid war.
The Atlantic via Yahoo and total BS. The war is going to end how it was always going to end. Now that the rat money laundering is shut down it will end.
Seriously? That is just as ridiculous as saying, “I hope 75 million more illegals come into the USA and overwhelm the government”.
While there is NO good guy in this stupidity , Ukraine WAS INVADED no less than America is being invaded. One is through military means, and the other by sheer volume of numbers.
Surely you can’t be that naive.
Wait ‘til Trump tells the Z-man that future military aid depends on immediately handing over all the info on the Bidens and other U.S. grifters.
Count no war finished until a peace treaty has been signed and the troops have stopped firing their guns. This is premature.
+1. ALL nations have the right to secure borders, not just the USA.
They did hand over the recordings of Biden threats over Shokin.
They also pointed out that of the money allocated to Ukraine they received much less than half. Trump repeated that.
Which means that the rest was siphoned off to Democrat NGOs, or some pockets yet to be exposed.
Ukraine will continue to lose more territory until the conflict ends. The outcome for Ukraine may be a ruined, failed state with parts being annexed by its neighboring nations.
Who cares?
It’s not our fight.
Not a dime more. And no weapons of any kind...they cost money.
I hope that Putin's Russia continues to lose territory.

Bkmk
Biden says Putin ‘already lost’ war in Ukraine, slams senator for ‘jeopardizing’ national security NBC News, 13 July 2023.Since the institutional Left' institutional Leftist president declared this then, the whole thing since then has been unicorns and rainbows, camouflaging corruption aplenty.
My personal take is that the Ukraine war "ended" sometime in the future, with lots of political and fiscal collateral damage in between.
That President Trump is slowly handing the mess over to the big mouth Europeans -- Starmer with his 100-year pledge and the EU with Ursula von der Leyen and her sanctions and sanctions and sanctions -- Europe is shortly to be in the catbird seat. It will be lovely to see them "lead." < s a r c >
