More ghetto speak. He released an important new video. Is this some rap mixtape?

That was some weak shiite.

It's also technical language. We used to "drop" new code, or "drop" a fixpack. While maybe jargonish, it's a valid synonym for "release".
You may be thinking of the term "Mic drop", which is a nonsensical term, IMHO.

I noticed that too.
I have to decide what the context of “drops” is, before I can appreciate the article. “Drops” could mean he “dropped” or let go of it as something to work on.
I figured it was more Gen Z talk.
To: DesertRhino
Good catch on that—showing the bias of the reporter.

From Co-Pilot ai:
When did "drop" become a colloquialism for "release to the public"?
The term "drop" started gaining popularity in the early 2000s, especially within the music industry. Artists and labels used it to describe the release of new albums, singles, or music videos. The term quickly spread to other areas like fashion, where brands would "drop" new collections or products.
Its appeal likely comes from the sense of immediacy and impact the word conveys, evoking the idea of something suddenly becoming available, much like dropping a bombshell. The word continues to be widely used today to create excitement and anticipation for new releases in various fields.
In this case, it sounds like a word that fills in a real need, as "releases" is not strong or immediate enough. Only a few years ago, word got out from wire services and TV . . . fast, but hardly ubiquitous. Now a website "drops" a splashy story, and a thousand other websites, podcasts, TV, radio, are all over it, almost instantly.
In O'Keefe's case, the spread is not as wide as Kardashian news, but that is hardly his fault.

The guy in the video is so effeminate I thought he was talking to a male reporter until I heard her laugh on the recording. What a shock lol! This guy has waaaaaay too much estrogen.
