Trump border czar Tom Homan dismisses Pope’s attack on immigration policy: ‘Fix the Catholic Church’

Tom Homan, Trump’s border czar, dismissed Pope Francis’ criticism of U.S. immigration policy, arguing the Vatican ‘has a wall’ while condemning U.S. policies aimed at securing the nation’s sovereignty.

President Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan robustly rejected Pope Francis’ criticism of the administration’s border policies, saying the Pope “ought to fix the Catholic Church and concentrate on his work and leave border enforcement to us.”

Speaking to reporters outside the White House last night, Homan issued succinct comments on Pope Francis’ surprise letter sent yesterday to the U.S. bishops.

“I’ve got harsh words for the Pope. The Pope ought to fix the Catholic Church,” began Homan.

“I’m saying this as a lifelong Catholic: I was baptized Catholic, [had] my first Communion as a Catholic, confirmation as a Catholic. He ought to fix the Catholic Church and concentrate on his work and leave border enforcement to us,” added Homan.

Continuing, the border czar implied the Pope was hypocritical in his denunciation of the U.S. policy, saying “he wants to attack us securing our border? He has got a wall around the Vatican, does he not? So he has a wall to protect his people and himself, but we can’t have a wall around the United States.”

This coming Sunday will be the Bishop’s Appeal where a member of Catholic Charities will show a video and beg us for money. I will be walking out when she starts her presentation. I haven’t given to them in 35 years when they brought El Salvadorans to my town. There were drug dealers and prostitutes hanging out in front of the church and elementary school after that.

Pope Blasts Trump on Immigration, But Bans Unlawful Entry into Vatican City

Michael Matt rants over Pope Francis' scathing letter to US Bishops, ordering them to resist President Trump on illegal immigration and the open border. Trouble is, just last November the Vatican enacted a new law that bans unlawful entry into Vatican City and provides a penalty of 4 years in prison and a 25,000-Euros fine for violators.
