President Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan robustly rejected Pope Francis’ criticism of the administration’s border policies, saying the Pope “ought to fix the Catholic Church and concentrate on his work and leave border enforcement to us.”
Speaking to reporters outside the White House last night, Homan issued succinct comments on Pope Francis’ surprise letter sent yesterday to the U.S. bishops.
“I’ve got harsh words for the Pope. The Pope ought to fix the Catholic Church,” began Homan.
“I’m saying this as a lifelong Catholic: I was baptized Catholic, [had] my first Communion as a Catholic, confirmation as a Catholic. He ought to fix the Catholic Church and concentrate on his work and leave border enforcement to us,” added Homan.
Continuing, the border czar implied the Pope was hypocritical in his denunciation of the U.S. policy, saying “he wants to attack us securing our border? He has got a wall around the Vatican, does he not? So he has a wall to protect his people and himself, but we can’t have a wall around the United States.”

The Pope is a madman.
Christian Catholics need to reflect and realize they are Christians first and Catholics second. The continued attachment to putting man’s traditions above God is destroying the Church within Catholicism, in my opinion.
I am not saying this to be snarky. I am saying this as a person raised Catholic who had to find God / Jesus apart from the Catholic Clergy teachings.

I was made a direct report to the president of a large defense company charged with implementing a quality improvement program. I looked up this czar and his mandate. The two situations are similar. I had to direct various real departments as will Tom. The leaders of those departments gave lip service but little cooperation. This czar will only be as successful as the various departments allow. Any glory he gets is egg on the face of people running the departments he interfaces with. I was successful but it was super frustrating. Good luck to him.

The article notes that the penalty for entering the Vatican illegally is one to four years in jail and a 10K to 25K Euro fine, which goes up if someone uses a disguise or other means to evade capture.
