There’s a trailer park about three miles south of me that got flooded by Milton.
The trailers got flooded. Some have been removed. Others were being removed Saturday. I’m not sure if FEMA is paying for it.
The contractors my county hired with FEMA funding did a good job removing debris on my street.
FIRE them all. Jail time so they lose their job, salary and pension. Ya don’t want to obey your boss? Then you are DONE working for the feds. This will ONLY end when this starts to happen. Otherwise they become smarty pants and defy the boss.

I just got my new 96-gallon (~300-pound capacity) garbage can from my county for standard waste pickup yesterday.
It would be cheaper to simply have storm victims fill up such large cans (green cans: landscape debris, standard black cans: non-organic debris) and then have a garbage truck with mechanical arms come every few days to collect the contents like they do with recyclables.
The service road near my house is becoming more of a fly tipping area after every storm.

I piled up debris after Milton.
It was collected by a contractor paid by FEMA.
The contractor dumped it off a few miles away.
A second contractor loaded it back up to haul it off to the county dump far inland.
The two stages were to make clean up faster for homeowners and the real estate vendors.
Give California fire victims what North Carolina got.
Give North Carolina what Biden planned for California.

I don't know about you but a mile from me in the flood zone roadside debris consisted of huge sections of drywall, carpet, appliances, sofas, etc. Nothing would have fit in a can.
