The New Hampshire House of Representatives voted to require law enforcement to cooperate with immigration authorities last week in a landslide bipartisan 351 to 6 majority.
The February 6 vote also carried without debate.
When she was elected last year, Republican Gov. Kelly Ayotte pledged to put an end to sanctuary policies and charged the legislature with moving quickly on the issue. Ayotte also said she would not “MASS up” New Hampshire after seeing how badly her neighboring state was mired in illegal migrants and illegal drug trafficking.
The state Senate quickly obliged the governor by tackling the issue during its first days in session. Senate Bill 71, called the Anti-Sanctuary City Act, passed in January, which, like the House bill, also requires state and local law enforcement to cooperate with legal ICE detainers and other immigration laws.

In other words, New Hampshire is actually doing better than Florida. Down here, the RINOs used the special session DeSantis called to get better immigration enforcement to create a near-amnesty bill. DeSantis vetoed it.
A model for the rest of the country. This legislation should be offered in every state of the union. Force the dem governors and politicos to appose this very popular legislation.
‘bout time people woke up.
Now if they could just send some pubs to DC.
Wait, what?
One of the dirty little secrets about “liberal” New England is that its citizens like to keep their states homogenous. That’s why the Underground RR had no off ramps in New England and why illegal immigration is not popular.
Plus, our NH legislature gets paid $100 ANNUALLY.
Plus the mileage to drive back and forth to Concord.
That is it.
There are very few people working for the state of NH making a lot of money. Unless, they are in the UNH system.
FYI, the highest paid NH state employee is the coach of the UNH hockey team. He makes more than the Chancellor of the University of NH. They both make a lot more than the Governor.
Sounds like things might be changing now that SunNoNo is gone.
I’ve lived in lots of places and NH is one of my fav.
NH ping
We enjoy very low crime rates because of that, plus being a very gun friendly, Constitutional carry state.
I m also amazed at the number of people who think NH is a leftist hellhole.
While the US reps are democrat, and not by much at that, certainly enough that election fraud could account for it, the state level politics is republican, including governor, both houses of the legislature, and the executive council, which oversees spending.
In fairness, the Dredd Scott decision had something to do with Canada being the target destination. And your point about "tolerant" New England is perfectly valid. Some of us remember the riots in South Boston over bussing. And a certain room temp IQ politician named Biden stirring the pot.
It looks like a lot of Democrats rolled over on the illegal immigration issue—just one state but a very good sign.
Some of those Democrats had to be rabid leftists—and they voted for the bill anyway.
That is stunning news.
Yet they voted for Kamala....
Now take the other 6 and run them out on rails.
Did they...?
NH needs to secure its elections.
I know.
That doesn’t change the state level politics and it’s likely because of Manchester, Concord, and Nashua, those areas close to the MA border. And Dartmouth.
NH is sparsely populated in many areas, so as usual, the cities can outvote us.
It’s not red state vs blue state. It’s urban vs rural. THAT’s where the red/blue aspect comes into it. And that is true for virtually every state, which you can see by county by county red/blue maps.
Correct—our rural town in CT has voted for President Trump in all three general elections where he was on the ballot—but the cities (aka Democrat wastelands) have a lot more voters than we do.
It still doesn’t explain how you can have a Republican governor, senate and house, but still vote for Kamala...
It makes no sense...
