Judge finds Trump administration hasn’t fully followed his order to unfreeze federal spending

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge found Monday that the Trump administration hasn’t fully followed his order to unfreeze federal spending and told the White House to release all the money.

U.S. District Court Judge John McConnell ruled that ongoing struggles to get federal money for things like early childhood education, pollution reduction and HIV prevention research violated his Jan. 31 order. He ordered the Trump administration to “immediately take every step necessary” to follow his temporary restraining over halting its plans for a sweeping freeze of federal funding.......

The Justice Department argued, however, his ruling applied to a sweeping spending freeze outlined in a late January memo. That memo has since been rescinded.

The Justice Department argued that McConnell's ruling didn’t apply to other spending pauses outlined in different memos, including funds that were part of President Joe Biden’s signature climate, health care and tax package. McConnell disagreed.

The Republican administration previously said the sweeping funding pause would bring federal spending in line with the president’s agenda, and the White House press secretary has indicated some spending halts would continue as part of his blitz of executive orders.

Trump has sought to increase fossil fuel production, remove protections for transgender people and end diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.

LOL, so the judge's order appears to be against a rescinded memo.

Judges now think they are more powerful than the US government and the President and can order them about like little people

Fascinating - you thought you were voting for either Donald Trump or Joe Biden to head the executive branch of the US Government - but it turns out that U.S. District Court Judge John McConnell is the real power that decides how Fed.gov executive branch operates.

I don’t remember that from “Schoolhouse Rock.”

The best part of this giving the “judge” some BS back. My old boss used to say BS baffles brains. Lets see if it works here.

Our deep state has become so over loaded with commies, socialists leftists including others who are just graft merchants, it is going to take the equal of the Manhattan project to get them out, either literally or figuratively.

Is John Roberts going to do anything to rein in his out-of-control federal judiciary?

I am truly shocked. I checked my ballot carefully and I didn’t see U.S. District Court Judge John McConnell’s name. I must be getting old, oh wait, I AM old.

Go full on Andrew Jackson:

You want to carry out your such ruling than put your coat on come over here and lets see you work your way through the heavily armed federal marshals and stop me from ignoring your lack of separation of powers unconstitutional declaration.

“Judges now think they are more powerful than the US government and the President”

Why shouldn’t they? Apparently they’re correct.

Why can’t another judge issue an opposite finding?

“Is John Roberts going to do anything to rein in his out-of-control federal judiciary?”

Do all Federal judges answer to him? I want sure how that worked. Anyhow, I expect he’s very compromised in all if this, so don’t help from him.

Go pound salt Judge. It’s not within your legal purview to control Federal spending.

The judge is almost certainly guilty of receiving funds embezzled from the US Treasury

Congress funded departments in their CRs for years. Please ask the Judge to clarify which funded are being withheld from what programs that were directly funded by Congress?

His blanket order is an illegal attempt by the Judiciary to claim control over how the Executive branch executes its Conceptional mandated authority over the Executive branch departments

As a result of the freeze, the money valves are stuck closed. Given the heat sensitive stem seal material, no direct heat can be applied to loosen them

A gradual thaw will loosen the stuck position in about 6 weeks and the money flow through the stuck valves can resume
