Eighty years ago, on February 4, 1945, the Yalta Conference opened, at which the leaders of the victorious countries of World War II – the USSR, the US and UK – defined the contours of the post-war world. Despite ideological differences, they agreed to finally eradicate German Nazism and Japanese militarism. The agreements reached in Crimea were confirmed and developed during the Potsdam Peace Conference in July 1945.
One of the results of the negotiations was the creation of the UN and approval of the UN Charter, which remains the main source of international law to this day. The goals and principles of conduct enshrined in the Charter are intended to ensure peaceful coexistence and progressive development of countries.
(snip) In 2025, with the return to power in the US of the Republican administration led by Donald Trump, Washington's understanding of international processes after World War II has acquired a new dimension. Very eloquent statements on this matter were made in the US Senate on January 15 of this year by the new Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Their meaning: the post-war world order is not just outdated, but has been turned into a weapon used against US interests. That is, not only the Yalta-Potsdam peace with the central role of the UN is now unacceptable, but also the "rules-based order" that seemed to embody the egoism and arrogance of the Washington-led West in the post-Cold War era. The name of the "America First" concept has an alarming consonance with the slogan of the Hitler period "Germany Above All", and the focus on "establishing peace through force" may finally bury diplomacy. Not to mention the fact that such statements and ideological constructs do not show even a shadow of respect for Washington’s international legal obligations under the UN Charter.

No thank you to the UN anything.
Isn't this the little maggot that compared Trump's agenda to Nazi propaganda??
Why yes. Yes it is.

How do say “GFY” in Roosky?
The blue helmeted Marxists aren’t going to save you, Sergey.
On a side note, I recently watched a old documentary which included footage from the Yalta conference. The TV company showing this pre-processed it with AI for broadcast. The nude statue in the gardens at Yalta was blurred out. NUTS!!!
I've watched recent war documentaires were AI was used to blur out the dead bodies in historic newsreel footage. Ridiculous.
The UN has no sovereign power, and the charter clearly says so.
Russia, a true globalist.
The Putin followers will be along shortly...
In Yalta the American delegation had more Soviet spies than non-Soviet spies.
:-)
Just like the EU started out as a treaty explicitly limited to commerce, until it wasn't.
This is Putin’s Foreign Minister, like our Secretary of State.
That was a false claim right from the beginning. The EU’s earliest treaties in fact touted “respect for the Charter of the United Nations”, a document that Alger Hiss deliberately patterned after the 1936 USSR constitution.
Promote the UN as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces.Great. A charter based on the 1936 USSR constitution “should become the legal foundation of a multipolar world”? What exactly does that mean, pray tell?
— Goal #11 of the 45 communist goals for the USA
How do you account for the fact that the United Nations Charter follows the format of the Russian (USSR) Constitution of 1936 rather than the format of the (Covenant of the) League of Nations? Would you feel there was any significance in the fact that the general secretary for the organization which drew up the charter was Alger Hiss? …

The U.N. was the baby of known communist agent Alger Hiss. It was designed from conception to restrain the U.S.
