The plane has been found. Many missing.

Tragic. My heart goes out to their families. Wonder what happened to the other seven though? Could they have survived and are trying to walk to safety?
Considering the conditions, it sounds like wing icing brought it down. Curious to see what the NTSB says.
This is a really dramatic story — implies that some survived the crash landing but are now missing.
So many different things could have happened to bring them down - I think they have a decent (”TKS Ice Protection System”) anti-icing system, I was just reviewing a video of it.

It seems I remember last night that the pilot had mentioned he was going into holding while they cleared the runway, and that he was 12 miles from Nome.
If that’s so, why did they find the plane 34 miles from Nome? Was he desperately searching for a suitable place to put the plane down (assuming it was controllable)?
So many questions - he didn’t make a mayday call.
Now CBS is saying the Coast Guard believes the other 7 other bodies are inside the plane, but they can’t get in because of the “condition of the plane”.
If you see the photo online, the wreckage is compressed, as though the angle it contacted the ice was very steep. It was apparently not a controlled landing. That might explain why there was no mayday call - whatever happened was sudden and caused a steep dive.
Daily Mail now reporting all ten in the plane remains:
The search for a plane which vanished off the coast of Alaska has ended in tragedy with all ten people aboard found dead inside.
ice on wings .
had no control .
I’m one of those weirdos that follow David Pauline’s. Alaska and Yosemite are some really strange cases.
Paulides
My husband said last week that plane crashes usually come in threes.
Could be. A stall fits the steep dive profile.
We have a friend who is on the search and rescue team and another who is a teacher in Nome. Please keep them in your prayers as they minister in various ways. Both were called to Nome by God for ministry; this will be a first for either of them, as far as I know. Please pray for the families and communities affected by the tragedy, if you get a moment. Thank you so much.
They're saying that in the media - two were in Alaska (the F-35 crash at Eielson AFB).
Reminds me of Louisiana Congresswoman Hale Boggs disappearing in a plane over Alaska in 1972. The plane was never found.
Terrible! But glad they were found. RIP and may the Lord comfort their families.
RIP to the passengers and crew.
You’re not a weirdo. Paulides ain’t joking. I had a highly bizarre experience in one of his so-called Cluster areas. Very, very bizarre. Let’s just say if you’re in the wilderness and you feel like you’re being followed check your six every 15 seconds or you might not catch it.
Bless them, prayers for all those affected! I’ve been to Nome, and I know what a small community it is. I’m guessing most of the passengers were from Nome (not too many other reasons to go there unless you work for the government!). I had a good conversation with one of the teachers there about 5 years ago when he was visiting Anchorage. He was a native. I don’t remember his name but he was a nice guy.
