DOGE enters NOAA, raising Democratic fears it will be dismantled
Washington Examiner via MSN ^ | Feb 5, 2025 | Callie Patteson

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency is now targeting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, sparking concerns that the Trump administration may be considering dismantling the federal agency.

On Tuesday, staffers with DOGE unexpectedly entered the headquarters of NOAA located in Silver Spring, Maryland, and demanded access to confidential systems, according to a former NOAA official.

Andrew Rosenberg, who worked at NOAA under the first Bush administration and Clinton administration, told the Washington Examiner that the staffers “blew past security like it didn’t apply to them, and then wandered around for a while and asked…to have access to the IT systems.”

“As far as I know, they have access to the IT systems. We know certainly that some of the DOGE people are into the websites. They’re into the grant system, they’re into the email system,” Rosenberg said.

“My understanding is they’re essentially executing an on-site hack. I would say illegal hack because those are confidential systems,” he added.

Rosenberg said that DOGE, which is not a formal cabinet agency and is a part of the White House, is not conducting any review or analysis but instead looking at how to “massively cut the agency in people and budget.”....

Rosenberg told the Washington Examiner that there is no “legal basis” allowing DOGE to access these documents or to reorganize the agency.

Democratic lawmakers have lambasted DOGE’s efforts to access the ocean and atmospheric agency’s systems, accusing the Musk-led commission of “ransacking” the federal government.

What's missing from this article is NOAA's involvement in the manmade climate change hoax.

Secondly, Musk is Trump's direct representative, that gives him the authority he needs to investigate any Executive Branch agencies he desires.

While I used to post Washington Examiner articles using their website, it now requires signup. While you might not like MSN it allows the entire article to be read, and often links to the WSJ, NYT and Washington Post.

Doesnt matter if its a formal cabinet agency or not.

Its a legit executive order created agency. They all start somewhere. USAID was an executive order created agency.

Which is the most important aspect to the story. Elon seems to know which targets to hit first

They are, but consider who they come up against in these particular agencies and what they are doing. That probably quickly has to change once they hit resistance.

NOAA has corrupted the historical temperature record with so many undocumented adjustments, that the complete true historical temperature records are lost forever. This, of course, was done to support the global warming fraud.

NOAA does some things really well, but also has done some very bad things.

Think about what it means when career Federal employees believe that duly authorized agents of the President of the United States should not have access to their “confidential” systems.

That is mind blowing.

Nobody elected these bureaucrats.

The only authority they have was delegated through the chain of command in the Executive Branch from the President.

He is the boss.

They are employees.

Any federal employee who does not “get that” (and cannot be fired on the spot) should be forced to report to their new Antarctica duty station within twenty four hours.

They are probably getting 3-4 hours of sleep each night for a few weeks on end. I imagine they are pretty testy and short tempered now, especially if they get stonewalled by Swamp Creatures.

What they want to destroy is record-keeping itself. How can you say there’s a disease outbreak if the CDC is not allowed to report it or keep records. How can you say there are more climate problems if climate records are destroyed. It’s Pravda/Izvestia at work, under Putin’s tutelage and Trump’s leadership.

I forgot about the climate change angle. Seems everything needs funding for another study.

Many years ago I read an article where the writer broke down the endless studies that were happening, and how there was no end ever. All funded of course.
