Tulsi Gabbard's nomination to be President Donald Trump director of national intelligence cleared a key Senate committee Tuesday.
The Senate Intelligence Committee advanced the former Democrat congresswoman's nomination in a closed-door 9-8 vote, and it now heads to the full Senate for consideration. A vote has not been scheduled yet.
Following a contentious confirmation hearing last week, where some Republican senators questioned Gabbard harshly, GOP support for her fell into place following a campaign over the weekend unleashed by Trump supporters and allies, including Elon Musk.
Until three GOP members seen as swing votes announced their support, it wasn’t clear her nomination would advance beyond the Intelligence Committee. Given strong Democrat opposition and thin Republican margins, Gabbard will need almost all GOP senators to vote yes to win confirmation to the top intelligence job.

The full Senate needs to be open for everyone to see how they vote. I would have JD Vance there during the vote. He can then track the no votes if need be.
I know this goes against the Party Line, but I don’t trust her.
He might be needed
Agree.
You are entitled to your feelings and opinion, however I would like to hear more of the “why”.
If they all went there, they might be able to convince the Isle of Man to DEI its name to Isle of 72 Genders.
On a different topic, with the present kerfuffle over the body of water between Texas and Florida, a temporary compromise would be to rename it the Wheel Sea.
I would agree except that, like other nominees, she’s been a victim of the dem regime. I think her goal will be like all others; to fix the system.
RFK Jr - former Democrat
Trump - former Democrat
Gabbard - former Democrat
Just sayin’
There’s a presumption that women have their own hidden agenda (not sure they always know that themselves).
Women are presumptively unreasonable and unaccountable especially when the heat is on.
That’s a lot for a high-ranking and potentially deadly gov’t position.
Generally, women are there because they’re in competition with men and/or DEI (Didn’t Earn It).
Leaving DEI aside in the case, I guess the presumption can be rebutted with clear and convincing evidence to the contrary.
Here goes - again, against the Party Line

Elon too
Exhibit A...she ran to the sound of fighting America's enemies.
So do a lot of females who want to be males.

If you are going to run for any major office in Hawaii, you need a “D” after your name.
Yeah, but you don’t know what’s going on in that pretty little head of hers...
I agree you have a legitimate area of concern.
However, I note that President Trump operates from a position that societal needs can be met by Making A Deal rather than imposing Force and Violence on the same society that has the need.
Gabbard has been recruited (or drafted) to a Team to create a Deal to replace the arbitrary privileges that caused the conflict.
Gabbard is on a Team to engineer a Deal in which everyone Wins something, greatly increasing the certainty of the Deal being made.
The integrated Team also has everyone winning, greatly reducing the competitive dynamic between Men and Women on the Team.
Besides, if Tulsi gets out of line, I'll personally spank her good.
I'd like to see that...
:)
