The Department of Government Efficiency has been on a tear in DC. They’re acting like they have a mandate from the 2024 election, and they do. They’re uprooting, exposing, and shining light on the numerous pipelines of government waste and left-wing extremism that’s infected DC. They’re also clearing up many administrative issues, like worthless leases on government offices that are barely used.
The DC bureaucratic class has tried to fight back. They can’t win. Those who stand in DOGE’s way are put on administrative leave. Give them access to the systems or else. Treasury, USAID, and the Small Business Administration are undergoing renovations, but the Department of Education is reportedly the next target for a dressing down (via WSJ):

One of the top items on my wish list is the annihilation of the Federal Department of Education. It would be the start to solving so many of our nation’s problems.
As I said on another thread, it’s perhaps not hyperbole to say that Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has done more for childhood literacy than has the entire Department of Education.

It’s as if Trump read FR and went down the list of all the things Freepers have been saying needs to be done. Then he added a half a dozen things we hadn’t yet thought of to the list.
It’s cathartic watching the doom monkeys get so overwhelmed they don’t know which direction to fling feces.
This was actually one he talked about quite a lot, so I sure hope so.
The federal government should stop issuing new money student loans.
Let private lenders step in to fill the gap, with:
1. at least 120% of the principal amount having to be repaid before the person can declare bankruptcy on the balance, if the person has had W-2 income of at least $40,000 in a calendar year,
2. at least 80% of the principal amount having to be repaid before the person can declare bankruptcy on the balance, if the person never has had W-2 income of at least $40,000 in a calendar year but has had a 1040 Adjusted Gross Income of at least $30,000 in a calendar year,
3. at least 50% of the principal amount having to be repaid before the person can declare bankruptcy on the balance, if the person never has had a 1040 Adjusted Gross Income of at least $30,000 in a calendar year.
Making student loans a market product will help direct students to a college education which has market value.

The Department of Education was founded in 1980. It costs the US Taxpayer $274,000,000,000 annually to add a very expensive bureaucracy on top of what States do.
Education standards in the US now are worse then they were in 1979. With the US Government hitting the Debt limit in March 2025, it time to admit the Federal Education Department is a failure.
I truly do feel sorry for those good teachers. All 4 or 5 of them.

What I like, is President Trump and his loyal followers are hitting in so many areas at once the democrats are finding it hard to hit back.
So much winning so fast and in so many areas has left them dazed and falling back to the same old playbook that isn’t working.
