"The History of the Intelligence State" -- an essential 40 min lecture on the origin story of The [Deepstate Intel] Blob.

How the State Department created and runs an all government effort to maintain the American Empire which has now turned its guns on populism

Summary:

In this Analysis, Mike Benz discussed George Kennan's 1948 Memo "The Inauguration of Organized Political Warfare"

This Memo was Top Secret but declassified in 2005.

  1. CIA ran a highly successful whole of government operation aimed at rigging the Italian election April 18, 1948 to prevent the election of a communist and assure the election of the US's favored candidate.
  2. George Kennan wrote the "The Inauguration of Organized Political Warfare" on the heels of that to extend the CIA op to a State Department run whole of government covert program to conduct political warfare to defeat communism and maintain US global dominance.
  3. This monster was more recently directed against "populism"
  4. Kennan recognized that the United States had never done this sort of thing and this program would be anathema to the American people.
  5. Truman's NSC in 1948 [NSC 10/2] established the CIA as a paramilitary operation and that all of these ops [the "department of dirty tricks"] regarding propaganda and subversion were to be conducted covertly with the necessary cover to maintain plausible deniability to anyone not authorized to know.
  6. Lying to the outside world to maintain an empire required lying to the citizenry, creating an empire of lies that has to be maintained by a sprawl of lying to your own citizens. This spiraled out of control.
  7. The Obama Administration removed the propoganda ban on the US government.
  8. Wisner's Wurlitzer - the CIA organ to create any narrative anywhere in the world and have it broadcast by CIA controlled media, VOA, RFE, RFA.
  9. 1/3 of CIA budget went to media operatons. A similar number exists yesterday.
  10. American Homeland vs American Empire [and this blob, the cross government NSC coordinated department of dirty tricks is an empire advocate for by for instance Max Boot who advocated in FP a specialization in Political Warfare]
  11. Patriots wanting to put the homeland first run up against the establishment managing the American Empire
  12. The operation is controlled by the State Department, but not contained in the State Department because the budget for all of this could not be concealed within the state department.
  13. CIA organized coups in 85 countries between 1948 and 1983; 50 under Eisenhower between 1952 and 1960s
  14. CIA did to the new left what they are now doing to the new right targeted against peace, civil rights, and targeting socialist and communist communism.
  15. CIA operation CHAOS against students and purging a part of the right. Also FBI COINTELPRO.
  16. Church Committee was first oversight of of CIA since its founding and creation of House and Senate Committees on Intelligence and concerned about international program of assassinations
  17. Pyle: any public meeting is surveilled by CIA as a military op to prevent any bills from getting passed that would undermine the military agenda.
  18. Use of Clergy and journalists in CIA ops. Control of cultural and media institutions, musicians and poets. Many famous people involved. Called Congress of Cultural Freedom.
  19. Carter elected and fired 30% of CIA operatives and cut the budget.
  20. Reagan brought back much of this and created the National Endowment for Democracy to sanitize the fact that the CIA was discredited in the Church Commission.
  21. What we see today is a that the entire intelligence apparatus is supporting rogue diplomatic efforts in the state department.

Everyone at end of the 40s and into the 50s knew that the US was funding opposition to the Communist Parties in Europe-- this was when they were still openly supporting Stalin.

The French Communist Party had even worked against France in 1940 following Stalin's orders to help the Germans. After France's defeat, Stalin asked them to turn over their membership lists to the Germans, who promptly arrested and murdered all the top members. That's how devoted they were to Stalin.

Twiddling our thumbs while Stalin funded and armed the Communists all over the world would have been unbelievable stupid.

What actually happened is that the Church hearings destroyed the old guard at CIA and made sure they were compliant with Dem Party goals. The agency then slowly became stuffed with Dem Party operatives and, like USAID, began to use their covert political ops skills against the US on behalf of the Dem Party via "NGO" funding and organizing censorship campaigns on social media.

The intel agencies turning against the US was not an inevitability, but was bound to happen when the Dem Party was not suppressed as a Communist front during the Vietnam War.

The modern U.S. ‘intelligence state’ got started after WW2. At the end of that conflict our ‘leaders’ concluded that the most formidable agents of control used by our adversaries besides their military hardware were their intelligence networks e.g. the Soviet Cheka and German SS and Gestapo, which were to be ‘softly’ emulated so as not to cause alarm, and were massively expanded in scope during the cold-war years. That new system got a workout during the socially turbulent 60’s when a large chunk of the youth demographic aided by a new class of pharmaceuticals and curiously popular music felt that the Vietnam war wasn’t in our best interests and the movement was shut down faster than a German synagogue. The events of 9/11 were sort of the final nail in the coffin and we have been living in an ever expanding police state camouflaged by a thin veneer of consumer capitalistic ‘freedom’ ever since.

"Carter elected and fired 30% of CIA operatives and cut the budget. "

Carter took his Intel philosophy from Sec of State Henry L Stemson, who said, "Gentlemen don't read each other's mail." Both believed that humans spying on each other was a base and reprehensible activity. So in 1978, Carter issued Executive Order 12038, which gutted the US's HUMINT activities.

Months later, CIA had no one on the ground to warn them that Iranian "students" were planning to seize the US Embassy in Tehran.

One of Boss Ray-Guns first acts was to issue his legendary EO, Twelve Triple-Three (12333), which reversed Carter's position on HUMINT, but much damage already was done to our intel-gathering infrastructure. Carter stood down agents who had spent years getting deeply embedded, and since Iran had become a paranoid state governing a closed society, it took decades to recover just most of what his ineptitude had squandered.

I want to know why they took a conflicted Kenyan Muslim homosexual radical, paid his way through college (which can’t be verified), hooked him up with a true hermaphrodite, eased his path through the Daley machine and eventually made him an anti-President.

I’m thinking it was a “Trading Places” kind of deal where two old CIA/State Dept. dinosaurs bet each other one dollar.

So correct! Communism needs to be outlawed in all free nations.

You got the stick by the wrong end. Of course Carter was incompetent and did a lot of damage, but it was an effort, if inept, to get the blob under control. And that was at a time when the Soviet Union was a dangerous agency. But they collapsed and the blob moved on to support the globalist unipolar empire. And now it is focused on destroying any notion of populism in the United States, like the new administration.

Nowadays, we don't know what the blob's mission is, they certainly are corrupt and even worse they are incompetent. Oh and it turns out the drug running charges to generate off books revenue that could not be traces was true.

“CIA ran a highly successful whole of government operation aimed at rigging the Italian election April 18, 1948 to prevent the election of a communist and assure the election of the US’s favored candidate. “

I have NO PROBLEM with fighting Communists, whether here or abroad, as the Soviets were pushing Communists here and abroad. Either we were going to win the Cold War, or the Soviets were going to win, or both sides were going to lose. What we did in Chile, for example, certainly saved that country from tyranny and God only knows what was coming if the Soviets did get that foothold in South America.

The problem was after 1990. Instead of using our assets and capabilities to clean up the rest of the Communist world (North Korea, Cuba, China, etc.), they instead ADVANCED CHINA, pulled North Korea out of the fire when they were starving, and didn’t even bother with Cuba.

Now they’re going after our side, because we’re not Globohomo enough for them, or don’t support Re-population, or won’t shut down fossil fuels and bring-on 15 Minute Cities fast enough for them...and are doing all this not only with Taxpayer Money (a lot of it), but are also not permitting any OVERSIGHT.

That is Benz’s point. It started by fighting communists. It ended by fighting a person who thought he could become president by appealing to the people who thought they elected him.

Thanks - I see a lot of people on Trump’s side (here and elsewhere) who conflate the Cold War intelligence operations with post-Cold War intelligence operations. There is simply no comparison.

And NEVER FORGET, it was the Democrats in the 1970s who stridently opposed Cold War intelligence operations, to the point of appearing to instead want a hot war (very hot war) against the Soviets. As Ukraine shows, the Democrats have not changed, NOT A BIT.
