Durham, NC — The U.S. Army has officially identified Capt. Rebecca M. Lobach of Durham, North Carolina, as the third soldier killed in Wednesday night’s tragic military aviation accident in Washington, D.C. Capt.
Lobach, a distinguished alumna of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, was aboard a Black Hawk helicopter that collided with an American Airlines passenger jet before both aircraft plunged into the icy waters of the Potomac River.
The Army’s announcement comes amid an ongoing investigation led by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

“...was aboard...”
Very, very passive.
Reports now that she worked somewhere in the Biden admin. I’m sure that everything about her on social media has been properly scrubbed. Something still smells about this.
She was assigned to the 12th Aviation Battalion at Ft Belvoir, Virginia, and her awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.
Was Capt. Rebecca the Pilot in command?
Or was she a passenger or observer?
Was she a distraction?
The Helicopter operation rules limited the altitude to 200 feet, no higher, in that area. The collision was at 400’ altitude.
Can’t blame the Tower operator for that.
What did she do during her stint in the Biden Administration? Biden picked very, very few all American types to work with him.

Wow! Isn’t it funny that she has no social media presence? I guess this social media stuff must just be for old guys like me.
Why did they wait to identify her? Where’s her social media history? I’m not buying that she is one of the .000001% that does not have one at her age.
And?
What a pathetically ignorant comment.
I would presume they purged her wayback machine archives as well.
Now that all three in the helicopter are dead we won’t know so far what happened. If ever.
Not about a plane but remember when NY Yankees baseball manager Billy Martin died?
On an icy road on Christmas night, 1989.
“Martin, who was not wearing a seat belt, was killed when he was flung through the windshield. Reedy suffered a broken hip, cracked ribs and lacerations.”
First was reported Billy Martin was dead at the wheel. Then that the real driver moved his body before police arrived.
“Detroit bar owner William Reedy says Billy Martin - not he - was driving the pickup truck that crashed Christmas Day, killing the feisty former baseball manager. Reedy told the Detroit Free Press that he lied and told police he was driving to protect his friend, whom he didn’t realize was injured fatally.”
—Detroit Free Press and others.
A Durham, North Carolina, native, Lobach enlisted in the state’s Army National Guard in Dec. of 2018.
She was commissioned as an active duty aviation officer months later. She quickly skyrocketed through the ranks, and latched onto piloting like a bird to air.
Lobach graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in biology in 2019. A distinguished military graduate, she was in the top 20% of cadets in the nation, according to the Army.
Lobach’s service extended beyond the military – she was a certified victim advocate with SHARP, the Army’s Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention program, and a White House military social aide.
According to USAToday, the Army is hedging on this pilot having attained 500 hours of flight: “She had more than 450 hours of flying under her belt, according to the Army.”

My Mammy
sung by Al Jolson
Mammy— Mammy, I’m comin’!
Oh God, I hope I’m not late!
Look at me, Mammy! Don’t you know me?
I’m your little baby!
Wonder why she only had 500 hours in 6 ye?
