Running the numbers: What if the US were to stop supporting Ukraine?

Many Americans are understandably concerned about the cost of aid to Ukraine. But they are thinking about the issue the wrong way — we should be considering the cost of Ukraine losing.

Analysis conducted at the American Enterprise Institute has determined that Russia defeating Ukraine would cost American taxpayers an additional $808 billion over what the U.S. has planned to spend on defense in the next five years. This is about seven times more than all the aid appropriated to the Pentagon to help Ukraine since Russia’s 2022 invasion.

This estimate is based on a scenario in which the U.S. stops providing aid and the resulting Russian victory requires us to adapt our military capabilities, capacity and posture in order to maintain our security. The study then uses the Defense Futures Simulator to estimate the spending required to deter and, if necessary, defeat Russia in Europe, while also preventing further conflict by emboldened adversaries in the Pacific and the Middle East.

Without U.S. support, Russia would advance in 2025 as Kyiv runs out of weapons. By 2026, Ukraine would lose effective air defense, allowing Russia to conduct continuous large-scale bombings. Ukraine’s conventional forces would continue to courageously fight but would likely collapse by the end of that year, allowing Russia to seize Kyiv and then drive to the NATO border.

The Ukraine war is a war in Europe that affects Europeans.

Not until all (all) affected European countries choose to support Ukraine, all in, 100%, should we consider sending another farthing's worth of "assistance".

What you should be worried about is Belarus.

Putin could never subdue all of Ukraine, but he could easily roll troops right up to the Polish border via Belarus.

And Lukashenko and Putin are not the friends that people may think they are. The fact is, Lukashenko may be the only reason the Russians haven’t moved in and annexed Belarus. If he goes, and the situation devolves into chaos, then the Russians move in.

There’s that view.
But it would be wise to consider all angles here.
I’m not a fan of continuing Biden’s handlers status quo.
I also think there’s two sides to this conflict and corruption aplenty to go around.
What’s the best quickest way to end the fighting and draw up a lasting armistice line?

LOL. Their last, desperate propaganda ploy. "Experts have calculated the costs....."

Finally, a question that works!

"When did you stop killing Ukraine?"

She’s telling you simple facts. “If Ukraine is allowed to fall, Washington will need a military that is larger, more capable, more responsive, and positioned in more locations” We would have to return to the troop deployment of the height of the Cold War.

What if the US were to stop supporting Ukraine? Russia wins

What if the US were to stop supporting Taiwan? China wins

More wars start with no end in sight.

Ukraine lost as soon as Biden said that the US will invoke sanctions only after Russia invades Ukraine. That was a green light to Putin. After all Biden was lifting sanctions on Iran at the same time. Way to go Joe.

Jeez, that must mean if we spend another TRILLION DOLLARS on UKRAINE, WE’LL SAVE ABOUT SEVEN TRILLION over five years.

Yes, that’s the kind of “logic” that the NEOCONS AND GLOBALISTS have been reduced to. Why don’t they, for clarity, simply say “GIBS ME MO’ WAR!”?

So what will be your choice of languages to learn - Russian, Chinese, maybe both?

Oh I see from your past responses, you will be learning Russian - if you already don’t speak it.
