Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) introduced a bill Wednesday to allow children harmed by transgender procedures to sue the doctors and hospitals that carried out the operations.
Hawley’s bill would enable individuals to sue the pediatric gender clinics and doctors who gave them cross-sex hormones or performed transgender surgery on them as minors. The legislation comes after President Donald Trump signed an executive order blocking federal funding for any hospital that performs such procedures.
“Our children should no longer suffer from irreversible and dangerous child mutilation procedures, which the Biden administration enabled and promoted,” Hawley said. “I welcome President Trump’s strong action to reverse this child abuse and look forward to working with his administration to advance legislation that protects our kids.”
Hawley’s legislation, known as the “Protecting Our Kids from Child Abuse Act,” would allow lawsuits “against pediatric gender clinics and other entities pushing gender-transition procedures that cause bodily injury to children or harm the mental health of children.”
The bill follows closely Trump’s executive order, which called for the attorney general to work with Congress to pass a law allowing lawsuits against entities that performed transgender procedures on minors.
These procedures include providing children with puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, performing surgeries to remove the breasts of girls who identify as boys, and genital procedures. Puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones have been linked with heart problems, fertility issues, and can harm bone development.
Entities that could be held liable include pediatric gender clinics, doctors, and universities that house or operate gender clinics.

Now they’re going after yet another holy sacrament of the left.
How about prison.
I’ve said for years that the way to end this crap is via malpractice. Doctors will absolutely not do it if they cod have uninsured financial risk.
These mutilations are the opposite of healing or therapeutic intent. In time the pathologies from these surgeries are going pile up into a statistical tsunami. These are going to end up in the same class with lobotomies.

The Left loves this sacred cow. And they will die on this hill, wanting to castrate and sterilize children.
I don’t like this move, it establishes a narrative that it will take a law to do this. The states should start these suits right now.
“The Left loves this sacred cow. And they will die on this hill, wanting to castrate and sterilize children.”
I will be happy for them to die on this or any other hill.
Sue them into bankruptcy, and I am married to a surgeon. My husband agrees.
Now you're talking.
This is great, but what’s to prevent them from being sued now?
Well to not be hypocritical, they also need to allow lawsuits against:
1 the kids themselves who threatened legal action if they didnt get the procedures
2 the parents who also doctor shopped around to find doctors who would tell them what they wanted to hear after the prior ones who wouldn’t do it
3 the schools who teach this is normal and good
4 any therapist who convinces the kid to believe they need this done
5 any religious org/church who promotes this as normal and good
The quacks should be stripped of any medical qualifications, prison is too good for these Frankenstein butchers, they deserve execution. The crimes perpetrated by these criminals are a mockery of both god and medicine .
My question is why do we need a law to allow people to go after these so-called surgeons?
“..I will be happy for them to die on this or any other hill....”
Take a number and get in line....you’re not alone in that one...
The only good communist is a dead communist. Spit.
Agree. I like Hawley but this is showboating. Anyone can sue doctors and hospitals. A special federal law is not needed.
YES!
Suing doctors for medical malpractice should not require a bill passed in the legislature to be allowed.
